Action Bronson had a food show on Vice that's why he traveled to each state to put the fork in the cheesecake lol

Honestly I think you caught a lot of the references in 1 Train. It's just a super fun song and kind of an old school throwback "posse cut" where people were arguing online and with friends about who had the best verse. I'd say it's fairly widely acknowledged Big KRIT has the best verse and Yelawolf the worst, with Danny Brown probably second best to me, Joey and Kendrick really good, and ASAP and Action Bronson solid. I will say for Danny Brown, one of the GOATS (not joking), that you aren't necessarily missing something with his verse, he's just very funny and trying to be humorous here. His album Atrocity Exhibition in 2016 is one of the best albums of the decade and features another posse cut called Really Doe with Kendrick, Ab-Soul, and Earl Sweatshirt that you should check out!

im glad u found danny brown funny on 1train. his voice is super unique but hes super funny and an incredible artist. he made an album called 'atrocity exibition' which is almost always right below TPAB on music rating sites as the greatest rap albums of all time. the album is a personal battle against his drug addiction and he actually still lost money to this day due to spending so much on sampling. if your ever looking for a one shot album without doing someones whole discog, id start with one of the best hiphop experimental albums of all time :)

Vambie-Lou, you would absolutely love “am I dreaming”, Rock’s contribution to the “Spider-Man across the spider-verse soundtrack”. Also, Keith Sweat is a late 80s through the 90s R&B artist. Some of his biggest records were “nobody”, “twisted”, and “make it last”. Question for the coven: do you guys think that Vambie can handle a Danny Brown journey? It’s like 6albums. And Danny can be a lot. It’s a journey; from drug-fueled, chaos-gremlin, to sobriety, to clear eyed, still sharp, still witty emcee, who’s unflinchingly open about mental health and recovery.

JB

Love Danny Brown. Pneumonia alone would be such a challenge though 😂

JB

Wait… @Vambie, do you have “Really Doe” on your list/have you reacted to it already? 👀

There's a version of Fuckin' Problems with a different Kendrick verse that was likely recorded for early version of GKMC.

Would love to see some Danny Brown reactions on here. ATROCITY EXHIBITION is a real benchmark album

I really hope you do an intro to Big K.R.I.T. one day! Super underrated rapper from Mississippi that often goes overlooked when talking about great emcees of this era. I think you've already listened to his Mt. Olympus song referencing Kendrick's Control verse but I don't remember...

Michael Golden

Bogart is also a slang term for hogging and item, keeping something to yourself, or to bully.

Alex Twite

I go back and forth between Danny brown and Kendrick for my favorite rappers I really think you’d like a lot of Danny’s stuff

“Hurt me soul” on joeys verse is a reference to a classic lupe song from 2006 of the same name. He is an incredible artist worth looking into. He was kendrick before kendrick. Unfortunately he has become a bit of a hater towards kendrick but his first 2 albums “food and liquor” as well as “the cool” are both among the best hip hop albums of the 2000s
