This month, in lieu of a bonus video, I've got TWO livestreams planned!

First, this Friday (August 23rd), Jeremy and I are FINALLY doing the 100 patron livestream we promised AGES ago - a multimodal trip in Manhattan, Staten Island, and New Jersey, involving two ferries, a railroad, a light rail train, and at least one bus, by my count.

Second, on Sunday, September 1st, Jackson and I are going to do a 1000 patron livestream, riding buses in Philly to try to add up to the number 1000!

My question to you: in another instance of "you decide the public's fate", should these livestreams be public or Patreon only? I see pros and cons to both (the former allows for more people to be able to show up, the latter could draw people to join the Patreon), so I'll leave it up to you kind people! Thanks so much!

It's so exciting to see my suggestion come to fruition! Philly is a much better place than Boston for it, can't get nearly halfway through the challenge on one bus! Very excited to see it all go down soon!

fwiw i think the 1k patron stream could make for a pretty good standalone video. that being said tho both would be fun as livestreams as well

I think making them public would gather mor Patreons than making them private. Also nice to let the rest of the community watch the celebration.

I think making one public and one Patreon only can be the best of both, as if people see the 100 Patreon Livestream on YouTube they may be inclined to join your Patreon to watch the 1000 Patreon Livestream

I voted for all public. I think you do a really good job keeping things quite egalitarian - showing your patrons you are thankful for the support and you reward them but you don’t make it feel to exclusive or split people into categories in the credits. All of that makes me want to support you more. Keep up the amazingness!

Until viewership on the livestreams becomes so high that chat becomes problematic, I'd support leaving them open for all. It was seeing the announcement of the upcoming public livestream on YouTube that made me aware you had a Patreon that I could support your work with, and it'd be a shame to cut off that method of discovery until you're getting concerned about how many patrons you have.
