Ironically, I'm on the Floridian as I type this and got the notification.

Peter

@32:46 the train is only 48 minutes late, not 1h 48 minutes late.

That arena was the Dorton Arena in Raleigh. Very unique arena at the Fairgrounds where they used to host hockey and pro wrestling, among other things.

Peter

There isn’t another Amtrak train like it… since all the East Coast Amfleet Trains are under 32 hours (Crescent being the longest). A 48 hour amfleet trip kind of seems like pushing their limit.

23:13 bruh what?

I’m so happy you did this, they should keep this route permanently

I saw you in the Simply Railway video yesterday. Time for the real video.

As a huge pro wrestling fan, I geeked out pretty hard when I saw it. There's a great documentary on the history of the building and its place in pro wrestling history, When Giants Walked Here available online for free. https://www.pbs.org/video/when-giants-walked-here-5h4njs/

Absolutely died at the "okay Foamers, how was breakfast?" guy. You need to clip him every time you eat breakfast.

Bryan Harvey

I watched it last night after seeing the arena here. Nice talk about the architecture of the building. There were so many stories you could tell on the wrestling side, the Buddy Landel one is definitely one of them.

@15.15 If you need I will definitely offer me and my car up for a trip report on the Auto Train if you need Miles!

Viewliner II's are the ones with no toilet and newest lighting and updates. They need more of them because some trains end up with a mix with some Viewliner I's.

Did you have the same Charger locomotive the whole way? Or did they swap in DC? Saw it was a charger when you went to the front in Pennsylvania. Unique stop in DC because Diesel all the way so they can eat into a delay a bit.
