This one came down to the wire, so unfortunately you won't even be able to COMPLETE this video before the public release unless you watch at 2x speed! But I hope you enjoy this beautiful disaster of a trip as we say farewell to the MetroCard tonight after nearly 32 years of swipes. Happy New Year!

What a glorious disaster to end the MetroCard's iconic legacy. Check out the amazing New York Times article - thanks to Victor and Vincent for coming along on the trip! https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/31/nyregion/metrocard-nyc-farewell-tour.html?unlocked_article_code=1.A1A.991X.3s2qJlESM39M&smid=url-share#commentsContainer Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/milesintransit Twitter: https://twitter.com/milesintransit1 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/milesintransit.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/milesintransit Cameo: https://cameo.com/milesintransit Website: https://milesintransit.com/

I only started watching Miles' videos a couple of months ago, but I already find myself dancing along to the credits music while I sit at my desk. :) So, as a fan, I really appreciate having the end credits three times in this video. Happy New Year!

A fun fact is that the Roosevelt Island Tram gets about as much daily ridership as the Roosevelt Island subway station. It’s a random little amusement park ride in the middle of NYC that’s also useful as actual transit!

The NYT reporters were interesting to watch in the background. Unclear if they were enjoying the adventure or were wondering why in Gods name they were selected to cover this particular story. Regardless this was a great way to end the year. Thanks Miles for all you do!! I hope our paths cross on the T someday!!!

Ridgeeway Spark Arrestor

My favourite video of the year was circumnavigating Vancouver harbour. It had a nice mix of vehicles and environments, it's close to home for me, and it inspired me to visit Deep Cove myself. Second favourite was probably the Northern Quebec one. And I'd love to see more Ontario Northland on the channel.

I also loved that Northern Quebec plane video. My dad did too. Gave us both - also Native Americans - a glimpse of life outside where we live. I think my second two favorites are a tie between this one — and you and Jeremy’s longest journey using only a metro card — which was slightly less unhinged that this one.

Boston and Maine's Hottest Widow

Just curious, why did Dashiell take the bus instead of the Adirondack to get to NY? I'd imagine Amtrak would be a no brainer?

I can’t tell you how happy this video made me. Just seeing Jeremy’s enthusiasm makes me smile! Sorry I missed you guys in Newark Penn. Hope our PATHs (pun intended) cross somewhere, sometime

I watched you and Jeremy on Spectrum News - you were both great!

This video is my favourite Miles video this year. Even though I live in Finland and see plenty of snow, I love NYC when it's covered in snow. The chaos with the non working metrocard machines, piles of snow that people have to jump over to get to the bus .. it all makes for a great video.

Haha, part of me was considering shouting you out in the Patreon description because you had mentioned wanting a Jeremy romp through New York, but I ended up not doing it - I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you, and I'm so glad we inspired a visit to Deep Cove! I hope I can ride the Northlander train when it comes back soon...

I've been using OMNY for years and somehow just completely removed from my memory all the times my metrocard registered a swipe but didn't unlock the turnstile and I had to beg a station agent to let me in. Horrifying to remember
