Trying to get some "lower-effort" stuff out in advance of being off the continent for almost a month soon! Here's me finally finishing the San Diego Trolley system!

Very excited to see you go to the UTC-end of the Blue Line. I'm a UCSD alum and graduated JUST before they opened the extension to UCSD/UTC in 2021 (though I did get a sweet commemorative bag and magnet from opening day!) But in terms of intra-campus, the only stop really on the main campus is Central Campus. I think UCSD Health and the VA stops are still useful for grad students/PIs/fellows/medical residents though. Most student utilization of the Blue Line is definitely from Nobel & further stops as the housing prices in University City and parking rates at UCSD are absolutely insane. I will say that I think you being here for Comic Con drastically affected your chances of having a dotted trolley car; the networks are relentless and plaster their crap everywhere. I hate it too because I get motion sickness. At least on the buses, they typically have only 1 side dotted so you can choose. I hope you're able to come back and see the sights at Old Town!

07:57 "Its hard not to have it dominate the conversation when this is what I am seeing"---are somewhat situationally ironic words, because the past month has been such a shameful and cruel month in the United States that it is hard for me be able to appreciate things like American culture, engineering, demographics...all the things I would like to be appreciating in this video. All that technical ingenuity and cultural energy don't feel like much for me anymore.

But lets pretend that the world goes back to being sane. That people are reading this in some nicer, gentler future, this is what I would say: "Why do you keep calling them "dots", when they are actually the opposite!? The circular dots are the transparent part that you can see through! The dark part is the stuff ~around~ the dots! Really, when you think about it, transparent windows are 100% dots!". Enjoy that humorous, relatable comment, parallel world people!

Your new development adjacent to transit observation there is happening more and more here in NJ as well. It’s great to see. I live in one such community, and it’s great to be able to literally walk out the door, hop on the train, and be in Manhattan in 20 minutes.

As a SD local, you basically chose the worst time to ride for dotted trains. So many cartoon and anime wraps for the month before ComicCon. 70th St station does get usage somehow, despite the park-and-ride design for the station. Overall, it's a great light rail system for someone trapped in the suburbs like myself (only "affordable" housing here besides Mexico)

Miles, I'm sure they put all of the dot cars on the event train to get the advertising in front of the maximum number of people. Most people couldn't care less about the dots because they aren't trying to film out the windows. LOL

which continent are you off too

I just wanted to mention that I usually play a game with your videos where at the end credits I close my eyes and see if I can stop on my name, using the music as a guide. I am noticing suddenly that you seem to have a lot more names!

I think he mentioned it being one he hasn't visited before, so I assume it is Antarctica.

Ontario Traffic Man

The people claiming that transit agencies need dots for the advertising revenue consistently glaze over the fact that you can wrap transit vehicles without wrapping the windows. Or you can do what Toronto does and only wrap the upper third of streetcar windows where nobody is looking directly through them

Miles, when you get back on this "continent" , you should come back to Houston! What do you think about doing a video taking one of the many Mexican bus companies from Houston to Monterrey and back? We have companies like Turimex, Tornado, El Expresso, Omnibus, and so forth. Off course Greyhound makes the trip as well. Take one company south and another one north :)

I have found myself getting increasingly angry and bitter about it all as well, but I hope to keep the videos as some kind of beacon of positivity for as long as I'm able.
