The Dad Crew sits down to talk about the latest episode of The Peachyville Horror! They get into the tension that's been building as Tony continues to survive, what Kelsey might have done if she'd found Tony, the adjusted cliffhanger for the episode, and the tricky balance of finding a satisfying finish to a big fight.

Scary scenes from non-horror movies: There's a scene from the live-action jungle book where there's a field of grass, rustling, and then a photorealistic tiger leaps out directly at the screen. Got right through to the animal brain for me.

I think Matt's right . . . The weight of Freddie's BB would affect the velocity that the air is pushed out of the tube. The same way a completely full bathtub drains faster than a 1/4 filled tub. The pressure on the air is different. That means the heavier thing (Tony) will likely displace air faster, and create a negligible "air cushion".

For a great monologue in a schlocky action movie, Mickey Rourke’s speech in the first expendables movie is amazing. It could easily come across as too “dark edgy” but Rourke nails the tone, almost flat and nonchalant but clearly more sincere than he’s comfortable with and barely holding back a flood of emotions. For a great monologue from a TV show I always think of Pedro Pascal as Oberyn Martell, telling Tyrion about meeting him as a baby expecting a monster, and seeing that he was just a baby. Both actors knock it out of the park.

I was at a theater conference that Bill Pullman was the key note speaker. Someone asked him to do that monologue. He went into this whole thing about how everybody asks him to do the monologue, and he's not gonna do the monologue, and then completely pivoted into the monologue. We lost our shit.

as a dog trainer I agree with most of the dog breed Buzzfeed answers. Freddie is 100% a Frenchie. Boisterous, confident as all hell despite the conditions, and everyone’s friend. Anthony as a Shiba tracks too. Seemingly closed off but outgoing and loyal when it’s appropriate. Very cat like. Beth as a Corgi makes sense. Very smart, adorable and gets attention with whatever she does. Matt is a pitbull to me. Larger than life, comforting, loves to play, and a hard worker. Will to me is a whippet. Nervous energy that rips when he’s on track

Does anyone remember The Rescuers? The climax is literally the antagonists putting a captive orphan in mortal peril because she’s the only one small enough to get a gem out of this nightmarish cavern that’s only accessible at low tide or something. Kiddo barely makes it out and her captor was ready to drop her back into the water once she hands over the gem. If anything, the more I think about it the more horrifying the scenario becomes. Disney’s changed, man.

Fun story re the Toy Story 3 conveyor belt. There was a storm in my area the weekend that movie came out, and right at the part where woody takes buzz’s hand and they accept their death, lightning strikes and the theater went dark for about sixty seconds. So for one interrupted minute, this theater full of families thought that Pixar had just ended Toy Story by killing the cast with a silent black screen to end the series.

I can't convey how much it erks me that Freddy subconsciously refused to call the pipe a pipe and instead kept saying barrel. Because otherwise I was right there with him. I’ll never understand why Anthony talks so badly about his writing in Borderlands. I loved Borderlands 2 and replaying it right now, I still love it. Tales From The Borderlands was great too, and I was actually pretty annoyed that BL3 didn’t follow up on those characters. Didn’t know there was a book sequel to them, but I’m getting that now!

tbh listening to people argue for what felt like a solid thirty minutes for a ‘joke’ that had no payoff whatsoever isn’t exactly what i find satisfying about storytelling (especially when it continues into the after show episode) with this episode and the next everything that Kelsey, Trudy, and Francis are doing is super interesting and pushing forward the plot. Tony on the other hand had me rolling my eyes and glad that Will finally cut off this episode. not sure if I am the only one with this opinion, but i am not exactly ‘interested’ in this tube argument
