Another concept created for the "In the Liminality" game project, commissioned by my generous patron S. A.

This was a commission for a giant palanquin built to carry one of the chief antagonist demon figures in the game.

Palanquins are these box-shaped litters carried by servants historic India and the East. The commission consisted of a design for the palanquin - as well as the creatures that were supposed to carry it. Here are my initial sketches for the palanquin:

We combined details from the first two sketches to create a final composite.

Final line-art and colour illustration for the palanquin. Looking back, this could have also made a neat stand-alone floating chariot, operated by... magic or anti-gravity I guess.

Then it was time for the "palanquin-bearers". I sketched four different varieties of demons...

Out of these, we picked the two humanoid variants to refine and finalise.

I coloured these too...

Finally I put them together, the bearers, the palanquin and all.

And so ended another neat, detailed commission. Thank you all for your support on Patreon, and beyond!

What a wonderfully imaginative piece of work; this is going to be a great game!

It's always a pleasure working with you --- and this came out as spectacularly weird and wonderful as I could imagine. I've already been working on translating everything into pixelart for the in-game appearance, so I'll be able to share what I do with this soon as I can :)
