Content

Book 2 is now done and we're heading into book 3. Here's the chapters that got released this week:

Marvelous Mages
Chapter 172
Chapter 173
Chapter 174

Accomplished Arcanists
Chapter 162
Chapter 163
Chapter 164

Also, a reader suggested when I publish chapters I send out the full text of a chapter. I've been disabling that when I publish a chapter because it seemed annoying to blast out a huge wall of text. Then again, I am easily annoyed by many aspects of the never-ending deluge of automatic alerts and push notifications, so I'll go with the majority opinion on this one. Is this a silly thing to have a poll over? Certainly, but like Mirian, I simply cannot be stopped. If you care, vote below!
*Note that this would only work for the top tier because the other chapters are being released as "edits" which can send an alert, but not the full text. Patreon's options continue to be less-than-ideal.

Edit: Patreon now defaults to sending the whole text post as an email (apparently) and there's no longer an option to change it, so I've closed the poll.

I think you need 3 options. 1.) I would hate the email. 2.) doesn't matter to me either way. 3.) yes, I want the email. Because as is, as somone who doesn't care either way I'd rather vote to add the email just in case someone else wants it.

I turn off notifications I don't want. The full text of a chapter is one I do want, and I means I don't have to click through to the Patreon website or app - it's all loaded in my email, so can read it regardless of if I have internet or not.

I was thinking the "doesn't matter either way" group can just not vote, since I'd be taking the majority position of the people with stronger opinions on it. Edit: Either way, I can't edit a poll once its been started :/

If I'm going to get an email, then I would prefer getting the whole text. Otherwise it feels pointless to get an email and app notification. That said, from an author's perspective, if you accidentally publish the wrong thing, you can't completely take it back if you send the full text. From a reader's perspective, we can turn off notifications we don't want. Do what works best for you.

The Human

Yeah I routinely turn off email notifications for everything and just read on the app anyways, I think the people that don't want a big email can just do the same. Not much point of the email if it's just an alert to go check the site, you can get push notifications for that

John Anastacio

I'd like the email with the entire chapter, pleaes.

Justin

Gmail is sadly a better app reading experience than patreon. So full email is better.

Erebus

I don’t even know what either of the options mean lol. I’ve never seen any emails. notifications/messages for all apps seem screwed up for me honestly

I really like reading your posts in my inbox, the Patreon webpage is terrible and crashes my tablet from time to time.

Termii6665

Same, I prefer not to read inside the patreon app if I can help it

There should be a setting that allows you to get emails from pages you're subscribed to. If it's on and you're still not getting notifications, that's hopefully something Patreon support knows how to fix.
