In regards to TikTok: Yes TikTok will go “down” if there are nation-wide protests. This happened during the Renee Goode protests and the Alex Pretti protests. They will pause the timeline and kill any momentum of worldwide reporting of the protests. The downtime is US specific.

I really loathe that we live in a world where Alex Jones, 4Chan et al.'s conspiracy theories about 'paedo rings' have been shown to have some truth to them. For the victims and the absolute horror they've been through; for victims of more 'mainstream' or 'standard' trafficking and exploitation, whose stories don't have the same shock factor and aren't as believed or supported; and that it lends even a whiff of credence to the things they spout that are absolute, harmful tripe. (Not that Alex would ever go against his beloved Master Trump.)
