The sleeping dragon!

I'm inspired by dying worlds in fiction and real life. The idea of a once-great power falling from their height is compelling; the slightly ominous tone of a once-revered power "turning sour" is also excellent.

Tweaked the monologue a lot to make it flow better. I figured I could get away with Roshim and Avalon not appearing directly in this page, since it's so clearly a transition

When making comics one page at a time, how do you make sure that the pacing doesn’t feel too fast or too slow?

I have to prioritise the pace of the final product. I draft as much as I can ahead of time to figure out that pacing, and dive in on a second pass to add more detail. That second pass draft is what you see here

How many pages do you typically draft ahead of time? We see you posting the draft of the immediately next page when posting the completed version of one page, but are there many more drafts that we don’t see before their time?

I’m not sure I fully understand your question I have about 20 drafts for other comics sitting around, some of which I share with Patreon when it’s appropriate, a lot of which are nascent I have about 300 pages drafted for “Roses for Avalon” and a completed outline for the whole story.

Apologies for being unclear, I was trying to ask how many pages of Roses for Avalon you have drafted ahead of the currently-posted draft at a given time. Having an outline of the story seems obvious but 300 drafts is quite a lot! I commend you for having the patience to do all of that work. It’s been a lovely read so far, and I look forward to reading more!
