Hm. So Avalon had a falling out with the Lord of Gold, who probably is holding a grudge. However whatever happened between them doesn't extend to the Lord of Gold's people, who seem to remember Avalon fondly. It's also interesting how Avalon was all flirty and such, but now that they're at their goal (or at least, one part of their goal), he's grown more serious as the danger to him has increased.
