At this penultimate page, the reader glimpses Oidecalla the same way Roshim does, backlit against the glow of the sunset. Walking forward into shadow will allow the reader and Roshim to both see clearly. It's my visual setup to the idea that light can be blinding as well as illuminating

Aside from that device, I'm not happy with this draft, so I'll have to see if I can rework it to build the tension appropriately. Oidecalla's reveal and speech will be on the next page
