Low Female Attendance At The Next Tournament The Backstory Chapter 6 (Patreon)

I got this update all ready to go a few days ago, so you guys are getting it slightly early this week.

Patreon-wise, this has been one of my busiest months in a while... lots to get done and not much time to get it done in! We ended up rolling out five new stories this month, inlcuding the new chapter of LFA which I think I spent almost 1/3 of this month working on just on its own... and we might be doing another four next month if we stay over 100 backers. Fingers crossed.

I've possibly mentioned this a few times now, but lately when I post a story, I like to spend a few days going over it and digesting it. Just generally rereading it to make sure everything fits together properly, makes sense, and reads in a satisfying fashion. 

Over the last few years, this wasn't really something I was able to do due to outside pressure to get commissions done. The second I'd been paid for a commission I basically had to get right onto the next one to be able to afford bills/food/etc, with no time to double-check or anything. I think it shows in my older work the most, where there's plenty of passages that are just weird or bad and painful for me to reread.

It can be the toughest part of writing for me to really pore over stuff like this, but it's definitely worth it to do it. So I think it's very useful having a Patreon and backers, which give me the freedom to take my time a bit more like this.

To put it in less words, if my writing has been better later, it's not because I'm improving... although I might be doing that as well. It's just because I have the time to work more methodically and take things a bit slower.

The stories this time are two individual chapters of Low Female Attendance At The Next Tournament The Backstory... the first kicks off what is probably going to be the final major storyline in which we meet Kasumi and Ayane's mothers... and the second is a fun little mini-chapter involving Marie Rose and Honoka.

As for the double-mothers thing, that probably deserves a bit of explanation. Fans of the series will obviously be well aware that canonically Kasumi and Ayane share a single mother, which I considered going with originally, but it was actually a Hellabunna dojin by the name of "Love Love Kasumi Chan Teacher" that inspired me to go with the two mothers that are basically older versions of their daughters. It's a great dojin, like everything done by Hellabunna, but possible appearances for the mothers are tucked into the dojin's last few pages. 

Unfortunately, Hellabunna didn't think to provide the girls with names, or I would have used them in this story. I originally considered calling the girls "Tenjin" and "Hajin" after the two different sects of the Mugen Tenshin clan, but it came across as a bit clumsy... so they're just "Kasumi's mother" and "Ayane's mother" for the moment. Maybe that will change at some point, but it works fine for the moment. Backers are also welcome to suggest names in the comments, although I'd really prefer something that fits canonically instead of just random names... It might be appropriate to name Ayane's mother after the Japanese word for butterfly for example.

Anyway, I probably went on about that way too long. You get the gist, I'm a huge weeb.
