Just His Luck (Patreon)

Hey-hey friendos, today's update is one I was a little excited to get uploaded: Just His Luck, a Danganronpa fanfic set before the events of the first game. What with the characters involved and all, it contains massive, MASSIVE spoilers for the entirety of the first game, so if you have any interest in the series I heavily recommend checking it out before reading this!

Actually, on that note, reading the rest of what I've written here is probably spoilers too, but I've tried to keep it on the lighter side in terms of giving stuff away.

Anyway, it's impossible to talk about this story without first touching on Mukuro's character. She's someone I'd describe as an "underutilized" character to say the least, mostly existing in the first game as a plot device to keep the game's story moving. She only received attention after the publication of Danganronpa IF, which supposedly was recognized by Kodaka, the series creator, as putting an interesting light on her character. If not for Danganronpa IF, she probably wouldn't have had a larger role in Danganronpa Zero... which, I'm fairly sure is the only time we've ever seen Mukuro personally written by Kodaka in any capacity. Well, aside from some arguable stuff in Killer Killer. Danganronpa 3 doesn't count.

Mukuro's characterization in Danganronpa Zero was interesting enough to me that I've chatted about her with friends and talked about what her time at Hope's Peak would generally be like. She's a kind of girl I find very attractive in that she's dogged, ruthless and efficient, which I guess makes her and Kirigiri birds of a feather as far as that goes. It might also be accidental, but her protective instincts displayed towards Naegi are also pretty hot!

I was pretty happy to be given the opportunity to tie that into a smut story, and getting to pit her against Kirigiri on top of that was perfect. Once the initial concept of Mukuro and Kirigiri fighting over Naegi was in place, all the pieces of this story really came together perfectly, I think.

Since I've probably gone on too long at this point, I'll just end it by saying I'm obviously really happy with this story. I think it has just enough in the way of smut and character moments to create the blend most people are after when they're fans of a property and hunting for filth of said property. And hopefully you guys agree!
