~Ludo Wright~

To say the appearance of Nazarick lit a fire under my ass was an understatement; my brother in Christ, I was stressed.

And the Ring of Chaos does not protect against stressing yourself out.

At least I had the guarantee of the Ring of Chaos that I couldn't be scried on, which was a relief. Instead of going into the forest and wasting my stamina for a confrontation that would definitely come sooner than later, I decided to bide my time experimenting with my abilities. But before all of that, I rolled the pity ticket the gacha had given me.

Rolling Gold Trait Gacha...

A Rare Trait!

[Mysterious Stranger]

|Rarity: Rare|

A guardian angel with a revolver and a fedora, always just slightly out of reach. Sometimes, in moments of need the stranger will come and offer you his brief assistance, maybe he shoots your enemy in the ankle to cripple them or disables a trap you need him to.

That sounded both useful and very awkward to use, but I could use all the help I could get. It sounds a little unreliable, but I guess I'll just have to rely on the stranger.

I spent the days grinding, as much as I reasonably could. I did physical workouts and put on muscle unnaturally quickly, both thanks to the Lifeblood and because of me doing what any modern knowledge person would do with healing potions.

Lower rank healing potions, due to not having or very little magic, worked by instead accelerating the natural healing of those who drink it, making them rather ineffective compared to high-tier potions. But if you used them after a workout, you basically skipped the part where your body had to spend time building newer, stronger muscles.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Slane Theoracy knew about this method from a transported gamer speculating about it. But despite that, I doubt it would be utilised much, considering how expensive potions were. And here I was chugging 2 per day.

But the effects were apparent, especially with my optimised physique; I was getting visibly stronger with each workout. And I increased my magic power too by hunting monsters with Shadow Dart, only enough to get confident in using Shadow Dart in combat and expand my energy reserves somewhat along with my output.

Could I take out the army that would assault Carne Village? Without a doubt. I doubted I would take a single hit or the slightest injury from them.

Could I take on the Archangel Flames? Some of them probably, but alone, I would get absolutely slaughtered. However, I would not be alone; Gazef had an entire army behind him, and he himself could delay the angels enough for me to kill the conjurers if he was willing to play ball with me.

What I made absolutely sure of was keeping my mana and stamina topped off at around noon time, no matter what, as I remember that time being that time being when the soldiers actually arrived.

Now the question left is... am I prepared to kill fellow people?

Those Soldiers, they probably have their own names, their own friends and family, and they weren't any less people than I was.

I shook my head.

That did not matter. They chose this when they took up a sword, they should have prepared for the possibility of ending on the other end of the sword. I felt no pity for them. Especially when they were standing on the opposition.

If I were standing on the other hand, they would gladly kill me, so that was enough justification for me.

And so, at the noon on the third day, I felt Compass activate under the conditions I set with Reactive Activation, springing to life and pointing towards a direction, making me leap out and steady my nerves.

No holding back, these were proper soldiers in plate armour.

Alright, I can do this, I got this.

I feel awesome! I feel great! I! Can! Do! This!

"Let's go Samson!"

"Hell yeah!"

I took off into a sprint towards Carne Village as Samson tore apart the back of my helmet and unfurled fully, giving me his trademark long spiky hair ready for combat.

Before 5 minutes had even passed, I reached the village just in time to see the soldiers on horseback, having reached there at almost the same time as me.

The soldiers were dressed exactly in Baharuth Empire attire, but I knew better.

"Help!" "Why are you doing this!?" "Save me!"

Hearing the screams of villagers as bloodthirsty soldiers marched in, I leapt into action without hesitation.

"Wha-!" "M-monster!"

Samson unfurled into 8, bladed tentacles that stabbed forward faster than an arrow and pierced through the plating of the soldiers, ripping through their insides and throwing them away from the villagers. The scared villagers looked towards me in shock while the soldiers running around briefly stopped, staring in my direction as Samson's tendrils pointed towards them.

"Awfully fucked up of you to attack a village that can't resist, isn't it? Let me give you someone more your size to pick on!"

"Kill the bastard!" "Atta-"

But regular soldiers may as well have been lambs to the slaughter as Samson and I lashed out, spears of hair pierced through their stomachs and threw them at their allies, guillotine shades, blades of hair cut their horses and their riders in half. Teeth emerging from the mass of hair shredded the opposition.

"S-shit! What is this monster!? We weren't warned of this!"

"A monster? I take offence to that, I'm simply a good Samaritan!"

A spiked tentacle quickly separated their head from their neck, but I grimaced. There were too many soldiers for me to kill all of them with ease. I could see some in the corner of my vision trying to attack the civilians while fleeing from me. Seeing blood fly into the air, I changed tactics and started pursuing the one attacking the villagers.

"Kukh!"

Seeing a soldier stab a sword into the back of a middle-aged man Samson grabbed the soldier with his tentacle before flinging him into the air to land on his neck while the other tentacles like spider legs pierced and killed the other soldiers nearby.

But before I could leave, I felt someone cling onto my leg, it was the middle-aged man whom the soldier stabbed.

"P-please, save my d-daughters, over there!"

Who the man was registered to me as I grimaced before throwing 3 potions his way.

"Alright, you over there! Make sure he takes these!"

I pointed to the other villager beside him, who nodded solemnly before I took off into a sprint into the woods while concentrating on Sensor to locate the meagre mana signatures of the two girls. Thankfully, they hadn't run far as I saw soldiers chasing after them while a scared Enri carried Nemu in her arms.

"Hey there! No attacking cute girls on my watch!"

That made the soldier look back in confusion before two tendrils of hair wrapped around their legs before hauling them high into the air and slamming them down into paste. That made Enri turn to me in fear.

"P-please spare us!"

I sighed before taking off my helmet briefly to show her my face, making her eyes widen in shock.

"Forgot about me already? I'm hurt, Enri. I thought we shared a moment."

"Ludo...san?"

"That's me, now chase after me if you can walk, there won't be a safer place."

With that, I turned around and started running back with Enri following me. I didn't worry, as long as she was in my direction, Samson could protect her.

"Kill the monster!"

When I returned to the village from my very brief excursion, I saw the few soldiers that were left running towards me desparately with their weapons raised, saving me the effort of finding the rest.

Swoosh!

"Aaaaahhh!!!!"

Screams rang out as my hair ripped through all of the men and finally put an end to the invasion as I breathed a sigh of relief and exhaustion as I slumped againts a wall. My legs felt sore from all that running. And I noticed that Nazarick never arrived.

Curious.

Feat Achieved! Repel the Slane Theocracy soldiers

Rolling Gold Skill Gacha...

An Uncommon Skill!

[Intermediate Kama Sutra]

|Rarity: Uncommon|

You are experienced in the sexual arts, being skilled at pleasuring your partner and being a pleasant recipient. You know how to spot arousal and what your partner responds to.

Is this foreshadowing about how I will be bent over the barrel and fucked raw by the angels of the Sunlight Scripture?

As I leaned my back against the wall and caught my breath, I noticed some villagers walking towards me, their heads hung low in nervousness.

"You... you saved us. Who are you?"

"Me? I'm a good Samaritan who saw that you guys needed help, and so I offered it. I'm not a fan of seeing people get slaughtered." I doubted anyone here would point out the hypocrisy of me having just slaughtered those soldiers.

The man with a large beard and a red beret stepped forward alongside an old woman.

"What can we repay you with? A warrior as great as you must demand a great deal of payment. But our deepest apologies, we cannot spare much money, please accept-"

I cut him off by raising my hand, which immediately stopped him and made the rest flinch. Them fearing me should have been expected with how I just murdered several dozen soldiers in cold blood and in rather gruesome ways, but I would be lying if I said I expected this kind of behaviour.

Getting up, I shook my head.

"Nah, as I said, I'm just a good Samaritan. I couldn't just stand by and watch you guys die when I could intervene. I'll stay here for a couple of hours to make sure you guys don't get ambushed again. But I'd appreciate a warm meal; repelling those guys made me a bit peckish."

The village people looked at each other in unease as I shrugged. I was a bit peckish, but I could cook my own meal if need be. But before I decided on anything, a man approached from the crowd, the same one I had given the potions to, Enri's father if I remembered correctly.

"If... if you are willing, would you like to join us for dinner? I cannot pay you enough for saving my life and those of my daughters. Please, at least allow me to feed you."

Enri came to his side and helped him, he seemed to have a little trouble standing on his own, well it made sense, he was stabbed hard, even with my hard-earned potions it would be hard for him to stand.

"Yes, please, I would like to thank you too. It's the least we could do."

I nodded.

"Thanks, I'll be in your care then."

A/N: Nazarick is finally here, and there is a fire under his ass now. At least he has a new angel with a revolver over his shoulder who is willing to protect him. And Samson is showing why he is the goat by slaughtering a platoon of soldiers practically by his lonesome.

Village Massacre went a completely different direction. Most of the villagers survived, and so did Enri's father. The butterflies are flapping their wings as they want. What did you guys think about the Carne Villages outcome? I'd love to know.

The fight was pretty good, what he did yo the soldiers that chased Enri was awesome. We have the Kamasutra foreshadowing some things to come. The big question is, where is Nazarick and how will they pop up?

BronzDeck

Nazarick did not change positions, they are still relatively near Carne village. They already popped in last chapter, they just haven't done anything.
