"Ah fuck, did someone get the number of that fucking TRUCK that ran over me? Oh wait, the door is locked."
As I forced myself off of the hard wooden floor my body made some weird noises in protest but I ignored them. I felt like I got run over by an 18-wheeler that weighed 40 tons. At least I wasn't sick, probably, hopefully, I better not be.
I got up and stretched for a bit, and noticed that my od had barely recovered. And then I realized.
'Of course, I'm such a fucking idiot! Od recovers with biological activities like eating, walking, breathing, and sleeping. And when you fail to do that simple shit effectively then your od will of course not recover properly you idiot.'
Groaning I unlocked the door and staggered out of my study, feeling lightheaded from the blood loss and anemia. As soon as I opened the door I came face to face with one of the maids. She was slightly taller than me and when she saw she looked like she came face to face with a ghost and shrieked.
"Y-young Master!?! Are you okay!?"
I winced as I covered my ears. Good grief she was loud.
"I was, until you decided that I didn't need eardrums anymore. Oh wait, since you are here could you take this and have it washed? Thank you."
Saying that I pulled my shirt off and gave it to the stunned maid before walking away to have some breakfast. I hadn't eaten in at least 24 minutes. But the nosy maid was quite persistent as she followed behind me.
"Young master are you really alright!? Why is your shirt stained with red!?"
I reached the stairs and turned to her.
"As you can see I'm perfectly fine, just suffering from some mild an-"
I tried to take a step down the stair but my body, unfortunately, decided to betray me this day and choose a faster way down the stairs.
*Thunk* *Thud* *Bam* *Thud* *Thud*
Somehow my body managed to hit nearly every step on the stairs on the way down. Quite impressive. At least hopefully I don't have a concussion, probably, hopefully. I got up and dusted myself off.
"Anyway, as I was saying. Im just suffering from some mild anemia. Now if you could tell Natalie to prepare me some breakfast and bring me a change of clothes that would be much appreciated."
Saying that I ignored what she replied with and headed to the bathroom where I took an ice-cold shower and stepped out, feeling ever so slightly more alive I wore the clothes Natalie probably left me and left the bathroom, heading toward the dining hall.
Somehow Natalie managed to make an entire dish in the time I took my shower. Although surprised I didn't voice it. Hearing me enter the dining room(somehow) she entered after me and stood behind me as I sat down for my meal.
"Young master... are you alright?"
She said with genuine worry in her voice. Makes sense since she knows my actual circumstances. *Sigh* I do owe her an actual explanation since she takes care of me.
"I was training. You know the condition of my body. But on the other hand, I refuse to be a helpless failure."
Although I couldn't see her face as I was unceremoniously shoving food down my gulled I felt her wrap her hands around my torso as immense softness caressed my back causing me to halt my ceaseless consumption.
"Do not worry young master, I believe in you. But please do not overexert yourself, if you need anything I am here."
While I appreciated the sentiment I disliked the implication. If anything I was underworking myself considering how little I accomplished until now(including little me). I needed to get powerful and I needed to do that fast.
Regardless to ease her mind I nodded. Seeing my affirmation she hugged me a little longer and left to do her duties as a maid. While I remained deep in thought it while eating my meal.
My biggest issue was my horrid od capacity, quality, and recovery. Significantly limiting my ability to practice magecraft. And since I don't know any methods of healing a soul available to me nor do I know the method to improve magic circuits I have a single option for that left.
Improving its recovery. Od recovers with biological activity, so a better body means a better od recovery rate. Better breathing on top of that would increase the recovery rate even further. But there was a problem with that.
It is too slow.
It would take too long for me to raise my physical stats to a degree where my od recovery would show significant improvement.
Thinking of this problem my mind raced and raked across my mind for possibilities that would allow me to raise the stats of my teen body faster. And then it came to me.
Healing magecraft. In theory, that along with heavy exercise along with a lot of nutrients would be able to build my body at an incredible rate. Plus it would count as progress toward my quest. Alright, now I just need to acquire the magecraft. I'm fairly certain Natalie could acquire it for me since healing is not a very valued skill among Magus.
After finishing my meal I did precisely that. After my meal, I went up to Natalie and asked her to acquire me some books about healing magecraft. She responded by smiling and saying she would acquire it within a day or so.
So while she did that I went out for a jog to recover my od and do some cardio. I slipped into something more comfortable and headed out to the backyard where I started jogging around the compound at a steady pace while focusing on controlling my breathing.
My goal wasn't to exhaust myself, it was to practice my breathing. Breathing was the main aspect that generated od. And if I mess up my breathing it will also mess up my od production. So I need to keep a steady breathing at nearly all times.
I kept jogging for several hours until I was drenched in sweat and trembling from exhaustion. After that, I ate the dinner prepared by Natalie and resumed my study runes. Before passing out on the cold floor once more.
When I woke up I basically resumed the same routine, throw away my blood-stained shirt, shower, eat, jog, and do breathing exercises. Studying runecraft.
3 days after my transmigration(reincarnation? I can't be bothered to classify what in the actual fuck happened to me) I finally got my hands on the healing magecraft book.
So instead of spending my day jogging and trying to do practice runes with my absolute garbage rat shit magic circuits I instead devoted all of my time to learning the healing magecraft.
And after several days I finally managed to cast my first spell.
.....................
It had taken me several days of frustrating studying testing and coughing up around a liter of blood but I was finally confident in casting the healing spell now. My od was full and my mind was clear. So I took out a knife and slashed across my forearm, drawing blood while wincing slightly in pain.
Flipping the mental switch I activated my circuits as I felt the uncomfortable heat and dull pain once more. Focusing I sent the commands through my magic circuits while having a clear image of the effect I wanted all the while controlling the magical energy.
"{Restoration}" A simple but effective aria that helps put myself in a state where I can effectively cast my spell. Due to its simplicity, it only has to be one word, and a skilled magus can forgo the aria of this spell altogether but alas I am not one.
And miraculously with some green light, the decently deep gash on my forearm closed at a rapid pace visible to the eye. Although it was a bit uncomfortable and painful the sight filled me with elation.
I just casted a spell. A magecraft, I have finally stepped into the world of the supernatural. For a normal person, this would be exciting. And for someone who lived two lifetimes, one where the supernatural didn't exist and one where he was a failure it was even more so.
"YEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH BABYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!"
Thankfully the room is soundproof so I don't have to explain myself to anyone. And thankfully I got the notification I wanted shortly after casting the spell properly.

After the notification, I forced myself to calm down. Now I needed to do some tests on my magecraft. Especially since I needed to increase its grade. For now, I stuck to cutting my arm and healing it repeatedly. Sometimes I failed to cast it and sometimes I managed to cast it with varying effectiveness.
By the time I passed out from overusing my circuits and throwing up uncomfortable amounts of blood, I had managed to get the grade to F+ after which I promptly passed out with a satisfied smile on my face.
