The King of Summer - v 0.5.9-early now out for Dandy Patrons! (And above) (Patreon)

After a few weeks without KoS, I'm glad to say KoS is back, baby!

Update v 0.5.9 will most likely be the second-to-last update of this latest main story sequence. I hope you guys have been enjoying it! It has proven to be a nice segment where to explore the mentality of certain members of the pain cast.

It could've been fairly easy, and fairly boring, to make Kendo and Shizuka's dynamic be exactly like the other girls. Not that I don't like it when the big old guy takes the girl, but Shizuka has always played a different role in the story. She's someone that is simply incompatible with old Kendo, so any encounter between them was bound to be antagonistic.

A kind of "immovable object vs unstoppable force" deal.

I took the time to get into Mary's mentality as well. This sequence hasn't been all too focused on her, but she's being forced to re-consider exactly WHY she decided to cheat on Satoshi with Kendo in the first place. There's love involved? Sure. But this being a porn game, sex is always the be-all, end-all of everything, and I wanted to explore that a little.

And Arato, of course, gets a power-up to do battle against Kendo. Because why not. While in Arato's Route he's still calculative and generally seems to have a plan in mind, his hatred of Kendo has him take a more single-minded approach, sacrificing smarts for raw power, in a way. His "upgrade" inspired me to put some more effort into his scene, adding a little more "weight" and reactivity to it that I thought turned out nice, even if it's a position that I've used plenty of times before (I like the mating press, sue me.)

In any case, it was a fun update to work on, and I can safely say that I feel extremely pumped to keep going!
