If I'm going to take a bit longer with the updates I might as well post more frequently to compensate. Making this post just for paying patrons so I can more freely write this up without Patreon getting on my case about it.
This message also includes some slight spoilers for the upcoming Isle of Fall update at the bottom, so scroll down at your own risk.
While making the latest Isle of Fall update, I decided to experiment a little with x-ray views. People sometimes ask about it, and I decided to check if I could pull it off a bit better this time.
I already attempted a form of this several months ago, with a penetration view on the upper right corner of the screen. It looked like the first picture at the bottom of this post.
I did my best at the time, but while it conveyed the idea, it still felt kinda off. This method has some benefits, since it could be re-used as long as the tempo matched that of regular sex animations (I usually stick to set tempos of 0.2s, 0.33s, 0.54s, 0.74s and 1.05s per slap/insertion/cock-pounding to make sfx syncing easier). I like to devise small systems when animating to make it faster and easier to do again in the future.
But again, it felt off, which is why I didn't do it again.
For the current update, I decided to forgo the actual vagina/womb imagery and instead focus on an actual x-ray view IN the model itself.
It took a little experimenting, but check out the 2nd and 3rd images at the bottom of this post to see how it turned out.
It looks good in movement, too! Or at least, better than I expected. Adding some belly-bulging actually helps in making sure that the dick doesn't clip through the see-through model, and only a little adjusting is necessary to make it feel like both the dick and the penetrated body are adapting to each other's shape.
The idea, of course, would be to add a proper womb down there. I tried this in a couple ways a few days ago. First I attempted to add a realistic womb model, buuuut it was very hard to stop it from clipping (it shows even on a see-through character model) or even just reacting to the penetration in a natural way. Then I attempted to mix this see-through view with the first version. It still looks a bit off, but I think I'm heading in the right direction.
Anyway, there's no more time for experimentation unless I want to keep wasting time. Hopefully you guys found it interesting~
