Sold the last page of art from Dork #8 today, flipped it over and found these early Welcome to Eltingville character sketches on the back. You can see early stabs at Willoughby, Ironjaw and Jane.

Sal and Gary the Dirtbag were part of the series bible but never seen, obviously, since there was no series. Sal was the rival retailer to Joe, an even more awful person and comics retailer, if you can imagine. I don't know what the hell Angry Mouse Man and Wonder Monkey the Retail Chimp had to do with anything. Other than brain damage.

Drawn with a hard lead pencil, so apologies for the lousy scan. It was hard to bring up the light pencils.
