Hey hey folks. It's your grumpy neighbourhood Steel Trim here, returning from break.

First, wow, I needed that. I'm going to have to start adding a few to my schedule to avoid burnout so I can keep bringing you all this story. My first idea is to take one every 10~ chapters/weeks or so, but the first is going to be in late January, on the week of the 27th.

Why then, when I just said it might be every ten chapters?

Well, I'm getting all four of my wisdoms extracted a bit before that, so I'm probably not going to be in the best shape for writing. But hey, the program has to start somewhere, right? We'll see how it fits, if it's too many, or what, and go from there!

Well. Best of luck with your wisdom teeth. Make sure ya grab an anti-inflammatory med if your doc doesn't include it in your post op message. I just recently had mine ripped outta my head and taking some ibuprofen in addition to the other meds made the whole experience tolerable.

Plus one on the anti-inflamatories in general but c'mon folks, people have survived for millenia without chemistry in pills. They are seriously harmful. If you read the leaflets, so many body parts and processes get disbalanced or harmed while you do profilactics on the gum wounds. Anti-inflamatories have long-term cumulative effects that can be detrimental (as my family learned by suffering). My advise: use herbal remedies. My herbalist says that babbling raspberry leaves' concoction is good for inflammations and problems in the mouth. Also good for mouth care: geranium oil against bacterial an fungal infections and to some extent against viruses, and mulberry fruit against gingivitis. And stay well 🙂

Yeah, getting your wisdom teeth out is barrels of laughs. They gave me some very good drugs that convinced me to never try hard drugs again if I can help it. They were just too good. And take breaks when you need them man, better a break then burning yourself out.

Friendly advice to avoid any opiates, even if prescribed in your post-op care, unless you're experiencing enough pain to justify taking them. Dentists over-prescribing opiates (I.e. oxycodone) is the root cause of sooo many opiate addiction cases. I was able to easily manage my wisdom teeth post-op pain with Tylenol and ibpruofen, for example, but ymmv. Stay safe out there, wishing you an easy procedure and recovery :)

Sounds like a good plan, avoiding burnout is very important when writing online stories like these.

lol, completely disagree at least from my recent experiences. Got four of them out, and the packing wasn’t good on one of them. Got like 3 days worth of hydro/tylenol, ended up with 2 dry sockets despite doing everything right, one due to the poor post op packing, went back after being unable to sleep from the unending pain, found out the packing done wrong led to a pocket abscess IN MY DRY SOCKET, and was given this gel that was basically just moisturizer cream/aloe. It did nothing. Had to borrow hydro from grandpa for a week until I could stand moving my mouth. To be fair, overprescribing used to be a huge issue. My family is pharmacists and doctors, it was constantly something they complained about. But now it seems to have gone too far in the other direction, labeling almost anyone with genuine issues as drug seeking or just not prescribing it anyway when something weaker yet ill suited is available. To be honest I don’t see how hydro in the right doses is addictive, especially with the Tylenol mix used in modern day, and doubly so with the war crimes it does to your stool, but maybe some people get addicted from taking more than their prescribed dose I guess. Rant over. Sorry, I just couldn’t stop feeling that phantom ache in my jaw after being reminded of being given what felt like the equivalent of aloe to a second degree burn victim.
