...John this isn't really 'best friend' shit at this point. Wonderful chapter as always, the lore drop is horrifying* and fascinating in equal measure. The Shape of All Things flies in the face of natural philosophy that John learned to work within, but ensures that life can't wipe itself out accidentally. Can't wait to see what happens when John bends it proper

"Kiku has an army of Nameless. Do you think she's above sending a grim tide of them through the woods to round up every yokai she can to feast upon?" Kiku asked sharply. "While my injuries might be less severe than hers, she has the means to recover faster than you'd expect." It seems Yuki and Kiku were mixed up here?

There is something particularly horrifying about watching someone you know drink what might as well be flesh that has rotted, and gone through liquifaction... Like watching someone take a Tapeworm shot.

Great. Pataphysics!

God, I hope there is no concept of Lobachevsky manifold in "shape of all things"... might make things real trippy and horrible. Idea of something existing outside our perceptible physical space imposing physical laws on our world is not radically new even in officially adopted physics, some Einstein p-brane theory and physical vacuum theory variants as example... Although influence of "shape of all things" apparently limited after all, since for all their power they as minimum cannot nuclear transmutation, otherwise aluminum or gold would not be real rarity.

Huh, a sort of library of platonic ideals to assert over a given space, kinda reminds me of Stephen Baxter's Configuration Space in a way. Though that's more a physical representation of a multiverse than a sliding scale reality.
