I support this slower pace approach.

This feels like a good route to take. I don't think there's anything wrong with a slow burn, so long as growth regularly occurs over time and in nice amounts of size. The compe-tit-ion aspect is also pretty nice as I don't think you've done that in one of your stories in quite some time.

Sounds like a great plot. I think max outgrowing her sister should be in the cards as her sister has always been larger and the shift in power could be fun to see.
