Just so you know, just because Rimuru beat a "demon lord" doesn't mean he's as strong as one in this situation. Geld was a fresh demon lord. Just imagine out of nowhere you get tons of powerful skills, but you are expected to fight for your life the moment you receive them. You, having no idea what they are and the way they work, would naturally be bad at using your new power. If geld had time to sit on his power a bit, the outcome may have been a lot different. That and Geld didn't receive any Ultimate skills when he evolved, otherwise Rimuru would have gotten cooked. Notice how this was the FIRST person Rimuru has had a back and fourth struggle with to absorb? If your opponent is not weakened, doesn't want to be absorbed, or resists being absorbed, it will be MUCH harder for Rimuru to eat them, sometimes impossible. Also Rimuru can only absorb things of a certain level, like if someone used an "ultimate skill" (you will find out more about them during S2) he would NOT be able to do anything against it. Also ep 14 was your last chance to watch OP 1.
