Again, I am starting to sound like a broken record here.. But these were awesome chapters! LOVED th ending of The Egg and The Eye. These 2 chapters really pushed a long several mysteries, most of which I am still up in the air about (which is PERFECT for a first read).

Just want to say I'm super sorry about my OBSCENELY long comment. It's crazy how time worked out because as soon as I was done editing I saw the little icon that you “liked” it 😬🤦 I was literally only a few minutes off!!!! Ah cool, looking forward to it! Didn't manage to post my comment to this one :/ I had actually drafted a very long comment about how I find it concerning that a thing like prefects' bathroom exists at Hogwarts and how that's teaching elitism to kids from very young age - which turned into a 4- paragraph rant so I needed to edit myself before posting. :D Then I didn't get a chance to come back to it and post something more sensible. Anyway looking forward to see what you make of these chapters!

I mean, being a prefect is a reward for being a certain way and privilages should be given for excellency. Elites based on skills, character and merit definitely should exist. Doesn't mean that the quality for the rest should be terrible.

Interestingly I have considered that in my rant that never made it :) so I get your point. Yes it is based on merit, but is it really purely for hard work and is that fair anyway? Even if prefects are awarded completely fairly (which we do see in later books they really are not) - it's not all hard work. It also depends a lot on talent, luck, family background etc. For example people with ADHD or learning disabilities would have it much harder to become a prefect. Should they really be made feel that they will never deserve the good things in life and that those are limited to the selected few? My point was, in real world there's an issue of scarcity - resources are limited so of course there needs to be some way the more luxurious resources are distributed to limited amount of people. In Harry's world though, there doesn't seem to be any cost to magic, so why not make bathrooms this amazing available to anyone? I think the elitism and the idea that some people deserve better than others so ingrained into us that's we don't really question it when it is included in fiction - seems so normal to us. Not sure if the above makes sense - there is a reason I never posted my original comment after all :) So I understand if you disagree

I really appreciate your rant about how disgusting it is to use homeless people for social content! I'm right there with you, it makes me so angry! Just at the point you mention Watersship Down, which reminded me you mentioned you followed Critical Role in a past reaction and I meant to ask, if you are aware of Dimension 20 - another D&D and ttrpg platform based on Dropout? The reason I mention it they recently published a short campaign losely based on Watership Down which I loved! (The PCs are a family of stoats) I think you might enjoy it actually! (It's called Burrow's End) Most of other D20 campaigns are worth checking out in my opinion as well - especially since compared to Critical Role they're short so easier to get into (main ones c 20 episodes per series, side quests only 4-10 episodes) and I really love Brennan Lee Mulligan as the GM! I'd recommend Escape From Bloodkeep which is a satire of Lord of the Rings and you get Matt Mercer as a player there. (I would NOT recommend Misfits and Magic which is supposed to be a satire of Harry Potter though, but that's just my opinion, loads of people love it!) Sorry a bit off topic here! And sorry if you already knew all that, I only recently got into D&D so seasoned RPG fans probably already know all about D20 so my comment is pointless :)

it is a bath tub not a swimming pool. Harry went there to take a bath, and mull things over in the hot water per the hint. he did not know the tub would be that big. you also have to remember she died as a teenager. her thoughts would have been shaped by hormones just a bit. minor thing bout my comment. it was what did you think not do you think. i was wondering what your thoughts where before it was revealed hagrid was half giant. @Hawwah - i think you are reading a lot between the lines that is not even implied about Snape. as i see it he clearly did not run to see what was wrong. Snape knew his store cobbled was broken into. so, he heard a noise then went to check his potion supplies first, or more likely there was an alarm along with the locking spell. he was already up checking the store cobbled and found the scene.

my least favorite character (book and film wise) (again, thank you for your oppinion on Snape - said it before I do not agree with some actions, but he is a great written character) there are a few that share this XD Pettigrew - just because his character is so ... just not nice most of the time. Mundungus Fletcher, because he is such a greedy piece of cowardice Totally NOT a fan of any Malfoy (and I really like the actors for all three of them) I hate Lucius, because he is the worst! Narcissa is just not nice, either - the few times we have seen her. Draco for me is just... NAY! I do not get how so many people think he is basically a good chaacter who is just misunderstood. Just look at his actions! Wishing for Hermone to die, be mean to anyone who does not share his pure blood bigotry There are two students I find totally annoying but you have not met them I find a lot of other characters I do not enjoy For the movies - I hate what they have done to Skeeter and Umbridge in the movies I do not like how characters were approached in the films a lot. As said Skeeter and Umbridge (and you will probably see what I mean when you meet more/the book character) I do not like what was done to the Trio - in the movies it's like Hermione is the only one who plans ahead and is good at anything. In the books it's more equal between the three of them. They took a lot of Ron from his book character and gave it to Hermione. Same for Harry. Ginny - not even getting into film Ginny and book Ginny! Can't wait for you to meet the real book Ginny! I do NOT like what was done to film Draco and Snape (I know both earn a lot of sympathy for the actors that play them) but I just think both are NOT accurate enough to their book counterparts (and yes that inludes more of Snapes nasty side) but what I HATE the most (I think) is what was done to Neville and his storyarc. Again, not really going into it - ut can't wait for the next book and YOUR reaction! Also... I do not enjoy the whole "Half Blood Prince" movie for me that movie is THE WORST out of all - since it's my favorite book and I think the film decisions were just not good. I know things have to be cut - but then please cut teen drama and not essential stuff. Again - I can nt wait for you to get to that book. Goblet (the film) is not a great adaptation (that's what you get if you hire a director that did not read the books. BUT Prince for me was even adapted worse then Goblet. IF I had to choose nooks or films (like I only get to watch the movies or read the books) I'd go for the books every single time. So I sort of dread the series. I sincerely hope they use actors that fit the ages of the book characters. Said it before - I would love to see Matthew Lewis as Lupin and I would abolutely Love for Harry Melling to play Snape, I think he'd be great! (and the ages for both are sort of okay) I know Dumbledore is a stretch - but I really hope for the younger characters I hope they do not use actors that are way to old again! Lily and James literally died at 21 Snape is 32 (at least) in book 1 - which makes him even more extraordinary if you think of how he deceives Voldemort after his return (and I still do not say I agree with some of his actions) Snape dies with 38/39 - I can not wondr to think what he could have done if he had lived for as long as Dumbledore/McGonagall (I am happy he dies - for me that sort of finishes his arc). Sorry for the long answer XD Also - happy weekend!

I have like two complaints about HBP - first of all... Literally this book title is "Harry Potter and Severus Snape" and we get what - like 5 minutes of Snape? And they cut "In Noctem" We do not get a single Defence lesson. But for me the even bigger issue is ONE lousy memory of Voldemort? Cutting that story is a real crime - for things like McLaggen vomiting on Snape s shoes?

I have to agree on just giving to homeless people for views. I think it's nice to give if you can but filming it for ciews? No just no We always try to give but do not film it. Last onth we needed to o to Bonn (where there is a Lego store) and David - (who had a bad accident) wanted to buy himself a lego set to do whilst ot being able to move (someone sort of hit him with the car, drove off and broke both his legs/pelvis) He had saved money, wen went and there was this young woman coming up to us, asking if we would buy her a meal at McDonalds, since she was hungry. Of course I did and then David handed her €20 so she could also buy herself a dinner somewhere. he did not have enough money for his desired set afterwards - but when I wanted to add he was like "no I will go ith a smaller one - it's fine, she needed it more then I do" I am proud! However I would never film something like this.

I can't really think who my least favorite character in the books are. But I hate movie Hermione, Gambon Dumbledore, Draco, Hagrid...

Like the previous commenter, I can't think of any characters I would call my least favorite. There are characters I hate as a person but not because I think they're badly written. They're very well written. As for the movies, I really don't like the movie versions of Hermione, Luna, and Dumbledore (3rd movie onwards; He was excellent in the first two movies). There are other characters I think were massacred in the movies and it's very disappointing but I still don't dislike them as much as these 3 characters I mentioned in the movies.

My least favourite book character is Umbridge (I'm surprised no one has mentioned her yet, or is it spoiler even though she was in the movie?) and Pettigrew, and then a character that was briefly in the movie but I don't think he was mentioned by name so I won't say his name just in case :) Oh and Cormac McLaggen, he's so so annoying in both book and movie. In movies I don't like Hermione at all, and Cho who is a little better in the books. I agree with you on Snape, I love reading about him and enjoy every scene with him either in book or in movies but I would absolutely hate him in real life. As a character he's fascinating, as a person, not so much.

I'm not a fan of Cho Chang in either books or films. I will explain when we get there in Book 5. I actually skip part of a chapter in that book because of how awkward it is. Snape is a fascinating character but he's a lot less complicated in the movies. What people regard as his redemption is completely damning for his character in my eyes. Finally, people are way too kind to Dumbledore because a number of key coin-flips go his way and more importantly, his plans change throughout the series. Had events proceeded as Dumbledore originally anticipated, people would hate him. I think people tend to judge them on the outcome, not their actions. 40k has since retconned the whole "Orks make ships fly through sheer belief." Which is a shame because it's hilariously dumb.

Each Head of House has their own criteria for selecting Prefects. Snape doesn't select Malfoy because he's excellent or skilful. He's rich, has pure blood credentials and Snape likes him. That's it.

Just want to confirm that yes I do feel bad for Flich. But, as sad as it is, I think Hogwarts is where he wants to be, tho. His position as “caretaker “ isn't really needed, the house elfs are more than capable of doing everything he does yet Dumbledore keeps him on. I respect Flich alot for being there. If I were a squib, I would be TERRIFIED and equally heartbroken to be around so much magic never once getting to use any myself.

And... as much as I love him as a character I would not ant him to bemy teacher, either. I do not see him as someone who should teach and I am sure it's not the job he would have wanted XD

@S1lm4r1l I am interested in your view. As you know I adore the character of Snape, but I know he has some really bad qualities as well. I agree to that character being less complicated in the movies and him getting a lot of sympathy because of Alan playing him. As much as I loves Alan, he (for me) was not the ideal choice to play Snape). I assume you are talking about the scene where he comes to Dumbledore and in the books it's revealed that he only ever asked for Lily - am I correct? Or... are you on about the memories? I know a lot of people say he loved Lily" - not a fan of that, because for me it is more an obsession then love and not really a good thing XD I am just curious! I also wonder - do you think he has an redemption arc and he deserves ist? Despite his choosing the Death Eaters at 17?

There's a lot of things but I'll boil it down. He only asks for Lily. He hurts Petunia. He reads Petunia's letter from Dumbledore. He doesn't really listen to Lily ever. He tries to get Lily to accuse Lupin of being a Werewolf. It's clear that "Mudblood" is the straw that broke the Camel's back. Snape actively encouraged Lily to hang out with people who are creepy at best. Snape does not care at all about Lily's completely justifiable concerns about the character of people he hangs out with. As far as Snape is concerned, he can do what he wants and Lily has to put up with it. He was the bad friend. When told of Lily's death, he doesn't care about Harry at all and wants to die himself. It is only after Dumbledore emotionally manipulates him that Snape agrees to protect Harry. Dumbledore reveals that Harry has to die. The only objection Snape raises is that Dumbledore used him. Snape doesn't argue back, doesn't question the decision at all. Why did Dumbledore keep Snape around? It wasn't Snape's Occlumency. It wasn't his past. It wasn't his ability to pass Voldemort information. Snape's talent was obedience. Obedience to Dumbledore's plan. Snape is a Death Eater. He was Dumbledore's Death Eater. He unquestioningly, unblinkingly followed Dumbledore's instructions as enthusiastically as he had once followed Voldemort's. Snape's redemption happens through Dumbledore's agency. Every single step of the way. People are free to disagree and I'm interested to hear what other people think. But to me he's not a hero, or some great romantic figure. He's fascinating and I pity him.

thought I'd give my opinion on the hagrid and and beast's, hagrid's relationship with magical creatures is more about him and his own self doubt about his lineage than anything else, he seems to want to prove that dangerous magical creatures are not completely evil possibly more to himself than to others on a deep down level. Also just rewatching bridget jones diary last night and when Shirley Henderson ( moaning Myrtle) who plays bridgets friend first makes an appearance shes in the loo, so no change there then.

Thank you for you answer! For me he is also not a hero and definetly not a romantic figure. A tragic one - yes. I pity him as well in some regars but I try to be sympathetic due to his poor childhood and start into life as well. I have a different approach, though. You say he only asks for Lily yes, he does and I also think it's for selfish reasons. I think he deliberatly did not ask for James (and although I can understand that you can have a grudge against someone who was a bully to you I am not a fan of this) I do not think he could have asked for Harry in any way, shape or from. In my oppinion Voldemort already had made up his mind to defeat BOTH babies born at the end of July (I really believe that he choose the Potters first, but I am also sure IF things had worked out he would have hunted the Longbottoms down afterwards). I just can not see how to ask for the babies and not get yourself killed. For me Snape took a risk even asking for Lily (and no I do not think it was nice to ask just for her). You say he hurt Petnia and I assume you are talking about the branch that fell on her head. I always believed it was accidential magic and not done on purpose. We have kids do all kinds of things accidentially. At this point Severus is what 9/10 and we know what Harry did in book one. I think IF it had not been accidential the Ministry would have sensed it. And Petunia was mean to him before, so for me -I am giving child Severus the benefit of the doubt. As for the letter incident... It's actually Lily who shows Severus Petunias room and they both read the letter. Lily is as guilty as he is AND she even blames it on him in hopes that Petunia will forgive her. I do not see Lily as a great friend to Severus (again, Seveus is the child, Snape is actually the grown up). She sort of uses his knowledge to get to know more about the wizarding world (he is her first and only magical friend befoe Hogwarts and she is happy when she can learn things BUT she then does not believe him when he tells her the branch falling is accidential. Not even givng him the benefit of the doubt and he so far had never lied to her.) I also see things different about things in school. Severus and Lily hang out first but then Lily makes friends in her house and the four Marauders started to target Severus. Not to sound mean - all you ever read from Lily is how great the 4 are. She never takes Severus complaints serious. As someone who was also bullied in school I can tell you it's hard to find people who will be your friends because you risk being or becoming the target as well. So for me - Severus sort of had not a real choice but to befriend people from Slytherin, so someone whould have his back. Lily never seems to introduce him to friends of hers from other houses. They are both kids - so not really blaming her. But then... Take into account Severus home live was probably as close to an abusive house as Harry had. We see a memory of his das being violent against his mom and Severus clearly being afraid. He has a poor upbringing and no good support system (except for Lily - wo is also a child and can not really help him). So I guess he has problems with interactons with others and he is probably akward. Also for me, Lily clearly does not listen to what Severus say, either. After he get attacked by Lupin in werewolf form and he tries to explain to Lily she either does know about Lupin and denies his "furry problem" (which would be gaslighting her frined) or she does not know ANDdoes not believe her friend. I think the friendship meant more to Severus then to Lily and I am sure he "loved" her in the way he could - but then he never had a normal childhood. I agree with you on him trying to be the one to make the decisions and not coping well if things do not turn out the way he wants to. But again, I sort of blame that on his poor childhood and bonding problems the character clearly has all his character life. I also do not see a real choice for Snape as to become a Death eater after he screwed his relationship with Lily. He probaly did not see any other way and (not sure) this was probably an easy way for is Mastery. We know little about how to become a Master in the wizarding World, but I do not think it's free. And Snape was poor. So probably one of his "death Eater friends" threw something in - like money or connction. But that's just my headcanon and I am fine with other ideas. Also my personal headcanon Lily s sacrifice only counted because Snape asked for her life and so she was given a choice. It's not ony a sacrifice that sets the protection up - can't because otherwise James sacrifice should have protected Lily as well as Harry. So her choice made her protection that powerful. I do not blame Snape for not being to interested in Baby Harry because he was hurting.And he never learnt to be social. I really do not like the way Dumbledore handled things (I actually really do not like Dumbledore a lot). You are right, Dumbledore manipulated Snape for more then 17 years. And for me he did not really care what Snape wanted and keeping him as close as possible. I do not think Snape is a great teacher - I do not think Snape is a very sociable character. He is not good with feelings, for me he does not understand a lot about feelings. I think he is a brilliant potioneer and would have been great at research - but not as a teacher. I do not think he does not care for his students - I think he just has massive problems with how to handle everything that does not work out as he wants it. Do I understand Dumbledores reasons? Yes Do I like them? No I really believe Snape felt remorse for Lily s death and felt responsible. I am not sure how much of his actions was because of his remorse and how much was because of Dumbledore manipulation. I do not believe it's just because of Dumbledore. But.. I try to give Severus Snape the benefit of the doubt, since working as a social worker I know how problematic it can be if your bonding experiences in early lives are bad. He is NOT the only character with this issue BUT I think the caracter has sort of been dealt a bad hand from the start. A lot of characters do - so not really an excuse. I really am protective especially of child Severus but I try to be sort of in tge grey area because for me Severus Snape is all grey he is not a white knight and he is not completely black. for me... there are twoDeath Eaters who I do not think are real Death Eaters Regulus Black - for trying to bing Voldemort down and dying in the progress and Severus Snape who more ore less did the same thing AND was also the only Death Eater to be able to cast a patronus.

You misunderstand me. When Snape goes to Dumbledore to tell him about Voldemort's interpretation of the Prophecy. He asks Dumbledore to save Lily. Only Lily. Dumbledore calls him out on it too. I think there's a difference between vanishing the glass and causing a branch to snap over someone's head. If we look at all the other accidental magic Harry does, none of it is to hurt others. In the box of punishments Snape has Harry sort through there's literally dozens of incidents where the Marauders are caught in various misdeeds. Not all of them involve Snape. I don't think the Marauders targeted Snape, he was one of many people they disliked. Lily says on a number of occasions that she doesn't think very much of James Potter and his friends. This is my point though. "I was bullied at school and didn't deserve it. Snape was bullied so therefore he didn't deserve it either." People attach their own feelings about their own experiences with bullying to Snape. Lily says that her friends don't understand why she hangs out with Snape. So they certainly seem aware of him and don't think much of him. Hagrid writes to the friends of Harry's parents at the end of book one people asking for photographs. Most of those friends would be Lily's. Not one of the photographs contain Snape. Sirius has 0 friends until school. Hagrid has nobody after getting kicked out. Neville has no real friends until Book 5. All of them rise above. There are lots of people whose upbringings weren't great. Both Dumbledores, Sirius, Harry, Neville. All of them rise above. And yet when it comes to Snape its somehow all excuses and justifications. Snape does not attempt to explain the Werewolf incident. He's far too busy getting angry about what Lily says. What she says is the truth. James does save Snape. If James saving Snape for his own selfish reasons is not noble, then neither is Snape turning on Voldemort. I'd argue that Regulus Black's character is who some people think Snape is.

I used to be homeless in London when I was young and I know a lot of homeless people there even now and have been at the food drops at the Strand. And I just cannot imagine someone filming. I don't know one person there who would have wanted to have been in a photo, let alone a video. We were very worried about even being in the background of a photo. I was also working and nobody knew at work that I was homeless an it would have been such a humiliation. I told people when it was over and on my terms, when I felt ready.

For me, I just can't stand Umbridge. I know we're supposed to hate her, but she's just not enjoyable to read about, except for one particular scene with her and McGonagall that isn't in the movie (but should have been). I shan't say more until book 5. Shan't!

I wonder if the Marauders put Peeves on the map intentionally because Peeves likes to cause chaos and they wanted to be able to avoid him. Maybe ghosts weren't as much of a problem. Least favorite character is Umbridge. 100%. She is worse then Voldemort. Second would probably be Voldemort. Then death eaters. Though I will say, while not my least favorite, Percy is another one I grow to dislike. This will be explained later one though. On a side note and a rant (sorry it's so long): I can sort of agree with the people filming themselves giving to the homeless and stuff, because it is kind of dumb and attention seeking. Some of the people who post those videos do it solely for the publicity and yes those are disgusting, like the ones that are so obviously staged. However, some (I hope) do it genuinely to show kindness isn't hard (Like the ones who go and buy a ton of food to hand out to homeless around the area). I live in a big city with a lot of homeless and I've noticed something. A lot of people will just walk by and not give a homeless person they see a second thought. Now maybe i'm wrong and just super hopeful: Maybe these videos can make someone second guess it. Stop for a moment and think about what could they do. Could they do something to make this persons day? Even if it's something seemingly so insignificant. Could they make someone feel valued and not invisible? That there are people who care? Sure not all videos do it right, but some really do. I was out one day years ago before these videos were popular and bought two bottles of water because it was on sale at the store (cheaper then just buying one) and figured i'd just take the other home. A few hours later of walking around I saw a homeless lady sleeping on the street with a dog and I left that second bottle of water for them. Sure I wasn't there to talk to her or anything, but the thought of her waking up and seeing that bottle of water makes me so happy to know I might have made her day. Who knows how long she or her dog went without water. On a few instances my mom and I went into McDonalds and got 2 pies for this lady and her daughter we saw all the time in the city (Now that I look back maybe we could have done nuggets or burgers and not pies....). Sure it wasn't much, but they were always so grateful for something. Once I had turned back around as we walked away and saw the daughter already eating her pie and the mom handed the daughter her pie so she could eat both. Even though I was sure the mother was hungry, she looked after her daughter first. I wish we could have done more but we struggled a bit ourselves. After a few times we stopped seeing them, I assume they finally found shelter. But at those times, I felt bad I couldn't do more, even though I felt good about doing something. Those good videos on youtube, have helped me learn that yes those tiny acts of kindness actually do make a difference in these people's lives. Not all those charity videos are bad. You just got to find the good ones. And those publicity fake ones, need to be called out more for it so people stop doing them.

Ghosts are on the map. I will admit that as an ex homeless: To me the videos are predatory and grotesque. It's this tokenising and further pushing that division between 'homeless' and 'normal' people. There is a way to make such a video without actually showing yourself giving stuff to people. I myself made a video before advising what to give, as people are more likely to give something if they know what and it's realistic but didn't film myself actually going up to people and giving stuff. In the end it's all about the person who gives, they are looking for certain emotional response to give themselves joy. I also, knowing so many homeless people both from volunteering, teaching classess and living with them in a park, honestly think many of these people cannot give informed free consent to being exposed that way to thousands of strangers online. Not only there are mental health struggles, often extremly serious but also they feel obliged in the situation. It's interesting how these creators care a lot about their public image but feel so comfortable filming someone at the lowest times. It's because they don't see these homeless people as equally there or equally human, in my opinion.

Okay it's all a thing of interpretation I think. yeah, I undestand! And I also agree it's just plain NO what he asks of Dumbledore. You are right on that point. I still think he felt remorse afterwards. not sure how much about James, but he feels guilty and wants to die because of it. Also... you say James is saving Severus for selfish reasons and Severs comes to Dumbledore for selfish reasons. I do ot se James as noble - but I also do not see Snape as noble. For me James was faraid that a friend would be blamed (lupin) and he/his other friends might be facing expulsion (that's how I see it). Yes, he saved Snape on he way, but just to safe his own and his friends hide Snape only asks for Lily which is for em equally unappealing. Bith deeds are not noble for me. Both have selfish reasons for their choice. Yes, Snape s request is not put nicely, but for me he is just not social and he asks for the only person he cares for. I honestly believe no one deserves to be bullied for whatever reasons. And I think it's not okay to do the same to someone, just because you had to endure it. I am actually a Kindergarten teacher/turned social worker and I remember when one of the women who bullied me at school came and said she was suprised that I was her daughters favorite teacher. She asked if I did not realize she was her daughter. I was just looking at her... It's not the childs fault her mother was unkind to me in our childhood/teens. It's my job as a teacher to give the children a safe enviroment where they can learn as well as feeling safe. I agree on all points with the other characters. JK tends to give a lot of characters shitty backgrounds. And I do not see Sirius rise about anything. He was an abusive, rich kid (with a youner brother) bully as a child and he is until he dies. For me - he is even worse then Snape is. But it's okay if people see that differently. Snape does not try to explain the incident, but he points out what happened (as good as he can). I do not think he handles the situation well. He does not handle a lot of situations well. as for Regulus Black as said, I thik both he and Snape are (for me) not real Death Eaters, alsthough both took the mark on their own accord. Maybe for different reasons Regulus wanted to do "what was expected" and make his parents proud and Snape did it to boost his own standing, maybe get a foot into a door for a Mastery and probably to gain reputation. Regulus wanted out. because he was disgusted at what Voldmort had done and that he used innocent creatures to make himself immortal (my headcanon) Snape wants out because he sees the love of his life (and again I do not think it is love) threatened and he sees no other way then to turn. Regulus dies, trying to bring Voldemort down by destroying his horcurx (proabably thinking it's the only one) Snape dies, fullfilling his duty (and in the same way) getting revenge on the person who killed "his true love". He works (for whatever reasons) for 17 years against the person who killed her. He is the only Death Eater to be able to conjure a patronus Snape lets himself be killed for the Elder wand fully well knowing (and yes, JK stated that one) the he knew the wand belonged to Draco. Snape was ready and willing to die for the cause. No matter what selfish reasons might have brought about his change, I think he also changed (and not just because Dumbledore manipulated him but because he realized the errors he had made). I totally agree that Dumbledore manipulates and reigns him in a lot. I just do not think it's only because of Dumbledore. I alos agree he is no "sunny" or "likebale" personality - especially as a teacher. Do I like the way Snape is working? Nope - but then again me reading into children who grow up in abusive households... he was just not good at vocalizing - like some other peopel or fictional cgaracters (Sheldon Cooper comes to mind). Sometimes peopel with a high IQ (and I just presume Snape has that one, seeing what he already figured out in Potions in school) are not really good communicators. So, I do not disagree on a lot of points I just try to give him more the benefit of a doubt

My problem is that nobody claims that Sirius is flawless, or some great hero. They see him as he is. When it comes to Snape, suddenly everyone completely loses their minds. I'd say a huge number of characters in the series are willing to die to help bring Voldemort down. Snape is not unique in that regard. Quite why Snape should be treated as though he's the only person making sacrifices is beyond me. If people want to find brave Slytherins, look at Regulus Black and Horace Slughorn.

For sure, most of the videos are horrible. Like I said, I do think some (and by some I should clarify I mean very very few) do it genuinely to show help can do good. I think those channels just get so over looked by the bad ones. Now I could be wrong maybe they don't actually care, but I like the have faith in humanity. They seem to do it genuinely and maybe don't show the homeless persons face, they keep the camera off of them or blur out their face. As I said in my city, there are hundreds of homeless that just get ignored and not given a second thought. I think the biggest problem is people are too scared to help. They find it easier to ignore and turn a blind eye. Sure people are there to help, as you said. You have gone through it yourself and you do all you can to give back. But I think overall, the amount willing to help are so outweighed by those who won't. I feel without the videos (and I mean the good ones not the crappy ones) less people are going to help because they are scared. Taught by others to just ignore them. I have a few people who were taught by their parents to never even glance at a homeless person, that they are un-helpable and not even worth the attention. I do think we need to speak out against the ones who are doing it without any real reason aside from the publicity and money they make. But support those that do it genuinely. Sure maybe there are still better ways to go about it, but do you think someone talking about what they did is any better? No matter what people do its always just gonna be "oh your just doing this for the publicity" even when it's not. Should we just never show others that kindness is a powerful thing? We can't learn from others if nobody talks about it.

Of course if they don't really show them or blur them. It's also possible to just show your side. There is a video a friend of mine did with an elderly man where she's being filmed talking and it's just his voice responding, he is never shown. Something like that could work! Tbh, I generally despise people filming interactions with me and I would have told them to stuff their food in their behind if I saw they were recording haha

It is true that nothing ever is completely fair when humans are inclued because humans aren't fair by nature. I definitely did also consider the elitism and hierarchy in my life (especially considering my backgroud) and I think it's the human nature. People naturally love it and naturally love the said luxuries more when given as something special. HELL! this works with cats. They won't eat same thing if given a lot of access to it, or given a plate of it, but they will be crazy about it if they think it's something special. Of course, all this in moderation. So, I think, yeah prefect bathroom is fine to not be for everyone if the other bathrooms are good, and not some tin old rusty baths and nobody is living in lack or discomforts. It's also something that one can access if one gets picked for a prefect and takes on extra duties of being one. At work also, one gets better offices when they get a promotion. Personally, I would stay in the normal bathroom, cause I'm way too lazy for extra duties haha

Veggie. Why is Harry naked? There is a very simple explanation: he was going to take a BATH. Cedric never said the bath in the prefect's bathroom was the size of a swimming pool. I don't know about you, but I don't typically bring my swimsuit when I'm going to take a bath ;) I have a little bone to pick with you on the whole squib debate. I know you believe two muggles could have a squib, but the fact is the simply can't. The definition of a squib is a non-magical child born to two magical parents. So by definition, two muggles (non-magical) could not have a squib. If they had a child with no magical powers, it would just be another muggle.

As a Draco fan, I don’t think anybody thinks he’s good but misunderstood in the series (at least I hope not). I think what most of us fans see is the potential for good. It’s like Tom Felton said, Draco is the product of his environment. He had 2 parents with messed up ideologies and was raised to believe the same things as they did. He says and does a lot of awful, inexcusable things but he’s still a child with warped viewpoints (thanks to his upbringing). But we see little glimpses that he’s not irredeemable and that’s what draws a lot of fans to him. Cursed Child is proof that he does have room to grow and become a better person

In regards to the squib debate, if you are using the "sociological" definition of squib then I agree, two muggles can't have a squib kid. However, we know squibs have some abilities that muggles don't have, so if we're using a definition based on magical powers then technically two muggles could have a squib kid. Also, if two squibs had a child with no magical powers, would the child be called a squib or just a muggle?

You were wondering if teeth decay was a thing in the wizarding world, and I would say it is: Karkaroff is an example (at least in the movie, in the book his teeth are just described as "rather yellow"), and Rita Skeeter is said to have multiple gold teeth (although that might just be a fashion choice, who knows).
