Oh man.. I had this all ready to go super early, then very nearly forgot to post it!! So sorry it is pretty late in the day!

Another Side quest!  I enjoyed this one, definitely seemed to hold off on main threat, but gave us a chance to see some great character development with Buffy.  Also we got to see Xander dancing in a bra.  Take that as a positive or negative at your own discretion!

I hope you have an amazing Weekend, guys! Expect a surprise this Sunday.. 🦡

Yeah, the coca cola placement was probably paid for. I don't mind if it's subtle like that (didn't even realise until you said it), but some sponsorship is just obnoxious - in Bones, Angel's later show, the characters will stop talking about their case in order to deliver speeches about how amazing their Toyota's auto-park feature is. It's so cringe and jarring 🙄

2/10. It's another one where certain things just annoy me too much to enjoy it. First, there are far too many adult/minor relationships. Second, it drives me crazy that Buffy drinks an unknown drink. We were taught even before junior high that you don't drink and drink that was given to you if you didn't see it made or it's completely sealed and you saw it be opened and then handed to you. (Maybe people I know are just way more paranoid, though, and other people didn't have those guidelines etched into their heads at young ages?) Also, pledges are the people who want to join the fraternity.

The scary thing is back when I watched this as it aired, I didn't see all the "red flag" adult/minor relationships in it. It wasn't the fact that these adult men are picking up high school girls that made them bad... They were only bad because they are in a cult! It's just weird looking back at this as an adult, and thinking it's creepy as hell that a show might have influenced me into believing such a thing was normal if a similar situation happen for me at that age.

I didn't watch the show until college, so I never saw it from the eyes of a younger person. With that, many of the relationships have always seemed "yucky" to me. Usually, the reason shows have main characters have late calendar/early school year birthdays is so that they can more easily do certain storylines with the character in the senior year of high school (with the character now being 18). Buffy (the show) doesn't care one iota about that, though.

THAT TELLING-OFF FROM WILLOW - it sneaks up on me every time, and I adore it. I enjoyed it even more once it was pointed out to me how many times she says "And YOU!"

You were hoping this was a Christmas episode, meanwhile... I was hoping the xmas treat was the og movie :P it'll show up sooner or later :)

This should be a 5/10 episode, but Willow going off on Giles, Cordelia being absolutely hilarious and Angel "vamping out" when worried about Buffy brings it to 7 or 8 out of 10 for me. For some reason, the way Willow breathlessly reports on what's going on in the frat's basement and adds, almost casually, "also, there's a really big snake" cracks me up to no end.
