A recap in readiness for a new chapter. (Patreon)
Content
TL;DR:
Chapters will resume at 9am, February 3rd, Australian time.
That should be 5pm US Eastern, 2pm US Pacific, on February 2nd, if I've got my time zones right. Basically, about ten hours after I post this.
Chapter release schedule will be three per week, the same as before I got sick.
Below, I have a quick recap of what's leading into the new chapters, given the rather lengthy break.
Some sort of Patreon glitch caused the latest chapter, 999 to unpublish. I have no idea when, but it's going back up tomorrow.
G'day all,
We are finally at the point of chapters coming out again. This has been an excruciatingly long time coming and I am very excited to be coming back.
While prepping for the next release last week, we realised that the latest chapter, 999, had, at some point, vanished from Patreon. As far as we can tell, it did go out and everyone should have gotten their emails, but it somehow got unpublished and we're still not sure what happened. Some kind of Patreon glitch is our best best. I went on holiday, took my staff with me, and then got hideously ill. With all that going on, we missed it until a few days ago, and I'm sorry.
I've given the chapter a fresh editing pass and it will be re-released tomorrow, ten minutes before the all new chapter 1000. I would like to tell you that I've done something special for the 1000th chapter milestone, but really, it's just another chapter. I do like it, though, and it touches on elements leading into the final arc of the entire series. I hope you all like it as well.
BOOK 13, WILDLY INSUFFICIENT RECAP
(MOSTLY NEAR THE END OF WHAT WE WERE UP TO)
Jason has returned to earth, along with a large contingent from Pallimustus.
The vampire queen, Elizabeth, is captured, but the ramifications of her plans continue to play out.
A magical researcher named Simon McKean was working with Elizabeth, only to betray her and gain some manner of unknown influence over the vampire lords.
McKean’s research has had dangerous ramifications, including the creation of plant-like blood monsters and a parasite that secretly affected many people around the world in proximity to world leaders.
Jason's allies manage to develop a treatment for the parasites, but McKean remains at large, continuing his research for unknown purposes.
Jack Gerling was a former gold-ranker who turned into a blood slave by Elizabeth after his death. McKean wrested control of him from Elizabeth. Gerling appears to have regained much of his personality and the ability to return from destruction, no matter how thorough.
The vampire war resumed in Europe, with humanity slowly clawing back territory.
Jason has been pushing humanity to become more powerful militarily through advanced magitech, using the vampires as a unifying foe.
After ten years, most of Europe has been reclaimed, with scattered vampire strongholds remaining scattered across the continent.
One of McKean's allies supposedly turned traitor and revealed to Jason and his allies the location of McKean's stronghold. Expecting a trap, they prepare to go after him while Earth’s forces ready to move against the final vampire strongholds.
