The first couple paragraphs conflict (overlap?) with the ending paragraphs of chapter 999. Basically, he showed up full (?) size and shrank down already, and put away his wings, then he's got his wings out and is 'diminutive', and it's commented on how he could grow bigger just after he shrank down. The opening comments are also different, but could be explained as Jason just ignoring what Jamis said at the end of 999. End of 999: "No dimensional vessel came flying in. When Jason granted permission for the astral king’s prime avatar to enter his realm, there was a brief distortion in space, and then he was there. He had no vessel, but his wings were extended out to either side. They were shades of mottled brown, limned in amber light. **He floated into the hangar, standing eleven feet tall. He shrank down to seven feet and his wings retracted and vanished.** “Interesting choice of companions,” he said, his gaze moving between Jali and Tera. “You freed both from bondage, one by force and one who yearned for it. It sends an interesting message.” " Start of 1000: “Jamis Fran Muskar was not the typical image of a messenger, despite the grandiosity **and the wings. At seven feet tall he was diminutive for his kind, and his clothes were not the loose, toga-style garb messengers favoured.** He wore a brown jacket over a dark green shirt, hiking boots and jeans. With **his wings** and shroud of amber light, he looked like an angel on a casual hike. Jason, Jali and Tera watched as he floated down and his feet settled on the metal deck of the vast hangar instead of hovering over the floor which was the messenger norm. Jamis allowed **his wings to shrink away**, and the light around him vanished as well. He stepped closer, highlighting how much Tera and Jali loomed over their king of kings. The least messenger-like thing about him was the absence of any display of dominance. **It was well within his power to expand his size and look his fellow messengers in the eye.** Instead, he looked up, fixing them with a curious gaze."

Typos: "staggering powerful" should be 'staggeringly powerful '. "Revealing the messenger on Earth" should probably be 'messengers' plural, unless Jason is deliberately avoiding revealing there's more than Boris in Earth (which is plausible). But given that Jamis just refered to the 'colony of unorthodoxy messengers' it would likely be an exercise in futility. Though he could technically try misdirection with 'there's just Boris', to avoid revealing that Jamis is correct, in case he was just fishing.

My thing with authors, and content creators in general, is that I hope they just do things they enjoy. There's a marked difference between content that is made doing something people genuinely enjoy and are excited about, versus even very practiced and skilled people that aren't as invested IMO. OK, so the research was to cleanse Thadwick obviously. But does Jamis need the knife or the soul that Thadwick consume to become an energy vampire? Greenstone thadwick and energy vampire Thadwick are not the same due to the influence of the soul that was protecting the knife. Carlos’ research is about separating the extra taint from the original soul. The soul that was protecting the knife was somebody the builder knew back when he was mortal, and I wonder who it was

Well, well, well. Purging sunlight madness. That's an excellent development and better than a retcon for something that I'd found kind of disappointing. (Vermilion and friends - oh that's right, Craig? - Craig Vermilion and friends were fun. So the whole community getting wiped out by magically enforced magic except for the ones hiding on Jason's Batman themed moon was kinda sad). I'm glad that they'll be able to live in the world again. I knew it... it was always Knowledge the true enemy. Her constant tries to get Jason as her subject, and even flirting with him so she could seduce him into loving her. And Jason rebuffed it every time because he knew she wasn't being honest about what she wanted. She wants to be the God of 2 worlds and perhaps the only God of Earth. My guess is her Major plan at the end of the day is to become an Original like Jason. Only instead of Mortal to a confluence of God and Astral entity. From God and gaining a body and Astral presence. Probably by using that Purity artifact and Jason himself for her Apotheosis.

I’ve seen a few people theorized that knowledge is a foreshadowed villain. And I just wanna come to her defense. First, if anything I think it would be more likely she would simple be someone who has a differing goal to Jason than a true enemy, much like the phoenix is at times: a being whose goals sometimes align, and sometimes don’t. I think, in the case of knowledge, we can trust Jason’s assessment that knowledge would start acting in ways that are counter intuitive to his current objectives based off of her very good guesses of his usual modus operandi. She may be the goddess of knowledge, but she does act on her very good guesses even if she doesn’t tell anybody what she’s doing until those theories have culminated into a fact. In all likelihood, she would put in place some plan to stop Jason from save scum the universe that would have the unintentional consequence of also limiting his behavior to enact his actual plan. Given the amount of astral specialists messengers that have invaded palli (including one jamis and Boris) it’s reasonable to think knowledge created sort of text message ritual she gave her pilgrimaging priest to contact her through the astral connection between universes. As for the her in “her plans” I think that most likely refers to the Phoenix as we can assume there’s some larger goal for the balancing of the universes that the Phoenix may have outside of the bridge. The Phoenix only cares about universal/astral integrity not the people in those universes. It has been mentioned that it’s not typical for universes to run in the same time stream however Pali and earth do because the previous builder essentially made them two sides of the same. The bridge connects the two universes more directly, therefore stopping the derogation of magic between the two places. However, the Phoenix’s final plan might be to merge the two universes together, so they are no longer two sides of the same coin, but the same side of the same coin. essentially a “Pangea” on a mass apocalyptic scale, which would have millions of casualties. The surviving people of earth (and palli) would not only have to deal with the results of such a catastrophic astral event, but also with being thrust into the invasion of Palli. Also, such large scale terraforming would probably dig up the purity relic. Sorry if this was too long I’m just really excited about new chapters

Ooooh now this is some good writing and story telling. No diss to other stories I’ve been reading- but Jason has the most personality, the story is action and character driven, the stakes and conflicts while divine and cosmological are still very human and relatable. Even the antagonists we meet are multidimensional and complex. Again no offense to other stories but they rely heavily on the system or gods too often. The battles become repetitive. And a few other things I can point out but suffice it to say that HWFWM is definitely a master class. TFTC Shirt!
