Great video as always, I think the reason the engine tried to turn on right after turning the truck on for the first time is because the hood was open, for states that require inspections, you have to be able to run the engine on its own to pass inspection, Chevy volts also do this so would make sense.

Regarding the fan shrouds: have you ever thought of getting into vacuum forming? You have the skills and equipment to make the formwork, and then you could make things like custom fan shrouds.
