KYLE DEXTER

Best day every. New video

KYLE DEXTER

I’ve watched you microwave food, for a sponsored post. And said wow, Robert is right, factor meals are good. So nothing is boring. 😆😆

Allan Clipperton-Boyer

If you were boring, I'd not jump to the video as soon as my email dinged!

Josh Bernstein

That’s a bummer about AEM. I used to have a really good contact over there, but not so much anymore.

Chris Martin

Hooray more Saab 96 content! I remember the blue one you had years ago

David K

Yeah I had a feeling that the AEM thing turned sour. As a "career computer guy" and nearly-graduated EE student, the memory corruption issue is absolutely unforgivable. I understand that it's not aerospace or anything, but that's just bad design.

Your experience with AEM reminds me of a project I worked on many years ago where a program we used was failing on us and we were having trouble getting their tech support to take us seriously. Eventually our supervisor sent them an email saying basically "Look. After we're done with this, I'm going to write an article about our experience with your product, and what I write in that article is going to be the truth. If the truth ends up being 'when stuff went wrong, they worked like a pack of German Shepherds on meth to get us up and running again,' then I'll write that. If, on the other hand, the truth ends up being 'when stuff went wrong, they said "yeah, you're on your own, glhf,"' then I'll write that. Proceed as you will." So yeah, AEM had their chance. Hell, this is YouTube marketing 101--if you want a creator to say good things about your product, then *make sure the damn thing works for them.* Ideally, it'd just work in general, but if they're not willing to provide support to someone who they'd like to have as a spokesman of sorts, that doesn't say anything encouraging about the prospects of regular customers. Looking forward to all the upcoming stuff! 🚗🏁🔋🚙🏎️😄

Hey Robert, slight issue in the vid, at about 2:50 when the Saab drives past, the stereo audio channels are flipped, so the sound comes from the right to left, but car comes from the left to right

agingwheels

I did a fair amount of audio editing for the actual video. For this update I just slapped the clip in unchanged

Aaron Watson

Sounds good, just making sure you know and don’t accidentally have it like that in the main video, but no worries then if you’ve got it sorted!

Nuno Campos

It's not aerospace, but its a car... If a car just go bonkers because of a 12 volt line, it's not good...

Chris Horry

Escape update! Can't wait, hopefully you can get those wheels spinning.

Mike Welker

You just make me a happier person. The context we get here helps to motivate myself past my own problems. You're awesome.

DrumBrakes

I thought you were going down the OpenInverter for the Escape project now? If you could get Damien Maguire (@Evbmw) onboard with that, I think you'd start making some progress.

agingwheels

I couldn't remember if I had mentioned the open inverters thing or not. I did get one of those as well, but then found out about the new thing from AEM that I want to try first

DrumBrakes

It was in August update for Patronisers. I do like an Off-The-Shelf product like AEM. OpenInverter.org looks like it could be really good, but the level of detail they get into is way beyond my understanding.

When I was in school, my professor was talking about error handling and I remember him saying “look guys, if there is one thing you should take away from here it’s that they guy who programmed the ABS in your car holds more lives in his hands than a heart surgeon ever will.”

Kristian Høy Horsberg

I'm loking forwards to more Saab content. The Saab engine... tuneup? And Trabant engine rebuild series are among my favorites on this channel. I regularily go back to them.
