This will be of no help now, but I wonder if you would have gotten a better service result if you had taken the truck to a California Chevy dealer while you were out here. I say this because there are fleets of Silverado EVs out here (Caltrans and Southern California Edison, among others), so there's a chance that they would be more familiar with servicing them. I totally realize how completely impractical it would have been for you and Alec to do that, so I'm not suggesting that you could or should have. One would hope that service knowledge gained at one dealership would be passed back to the mother ship and then through the rest of the dealer network, but clearly I'm smoking crack to think that would actually happen.

Curious- is this the lordstown endurance sold on bat with an actual title? Cause if so, didn't it already have 1600 miles? Wouldn't the speedometer already have kicked in https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2023-lordstown-endurance-3/ Listing for reference

Jason

I've heard from Marques long ago that most of Lordstowns crowd funding was made up by bots. Great job on the Solo too.

That is actually a different one, and one I didn't know about before. The differences are extremely subtle, but that is definitely a different truck

Not sure if you already planned this, but since you have a lot of projects in limbo, I would suggest breaking up the Endurance review into a series. That way you can bulk up on videos a bit and hopefully give you some good time to work on other projects. Maybe a “General Overview” “History of Lordstown Video” “Hardware overview” “User Experience” & “Q&A video”

I second this idea. I don't know how the YT algorithm stuff works, but a series of videos seems likely to fare better than one longer one.

Mama says stupid is as stupid does... but I know why you took to it the stealership but man I haven't seen any mechanics at a dealer ship that could fix anything in years... never mind an EV. put air in your tires and change the oil.... that's about it. You also might try putting a heavy load on the truck while doing your DC charging test as it might be something to do with current draw.

I hope the Endurance video(s) are as in depth and minutiae-laden as possible. Good luck!

Having some kind of weird gremlin in the system that nobody seems to have a solution for is a maddening experience, hopefully they just give you your money back at this point. Perhaps if, I dunno, some car enthusiast YouTuber with [checks notes] 462K subscribers makes a big enough fuss the manufacturer will take notice. Also, can't wait to see the Endurance video!

Fingers crossed for you that your truck breaks and that your truck does not break

Disco

Rob! I just saw a white Silverado EV with no license plate and a My Other Car Is A Trabant sticker. Was that you?

Chris Kostak

Can't wait to see what the Lordstown's first tantrum is.
