The Trabant is done! The video is not. I'll give patrons early access to the video once it's finished, but the rest of the world will see it next Thursday. 

Spoiler Alert: It runs beautifully now. Well, for a Trabant.

Captain Bob, I have to know: What's the average fuel economy for a properly running Trabant?

I have no idea. I'd like to test it, but how would I measure that? There's no fuel gauge, and I fill the tank with a jug of premix. The only stable measurement would be the odometer

Fill to the top. Drive distance x, then refill with full jug you will know how much is in it. Then measure how much is left in the jug. Jug volume - how much is left = y(fuel used). Now you know distance driven, fuel consumed, and you can calculate whatever comsumtion you want (mpg, l/100km..). At least I guess..

Are you saying that the Trabant doesn’t have an onboard computer that reports both your instant and average mpg?
