Between SMG and PDW: Sweden's CBJ-MS (Ad-free)

The best firearms reference books: https://www.headstamppublishing.com The CBJ-MS is a submachine gun designed by Swedish arms developed Carl Bertil Johansson, perhaps better known for his remarkable armor-piercing 6.5x25mm CBJ cartridge. He developed the gun at about the same time as the cartridge, on his own time while working at the Carl Gustafs factory in Eskilstuna. While it bears a lot of visual similarities to the Uzi, and it is an open-bolt simple blowback action, it has a unique and clever fire control system - and several other creative features as well. http://www.patreon.com/ForgottenWeapons http://www.floatplane.com/channel/ForgottenWeapons Cool Forgotten Weapons merch! http://shop.forgottenweapons.com

awesome design but that charging handle bars notch. reminds of the uzi a lot. and is very different.

Very interesting, thanks for showing. Seems to have a lot of parts for a small gun? Can you take it to the range so we can see how it shoots,

Clifton Ballad

With how easy it is to convert, would we even have a chance of having these in the US?

I don't think it will get to that point; I have a hard time seeing anyone funding production at all. It's just too old of a design at this point. It's clever, but doesn't really offer anything people want that isn't already available from other SMGs.

This is really cool, but from a pure utility perspective, I wonder if ALL SMGs and PCCs have been confined to the category of "Forgotten Weapons" by the Raider 365 (including the original Raider). If the task is "a 9mm stocked carbine that is no larger than absolutely necessary“, everything else is huge in comparison without offering a step change in functionality. I would love to see a side by side comparison of everything from this to the bulkiest (e.g. 1950s Beretta full stock etc) SMGs vs a Raider 365 for time at up to 100m. I was walking on my land the other day and when I got to the public road, I just folded the stock and stashed the Raider 365 in my coat pocket(!).

Question and a comment: Do we know what the cyclic rate is? I think the spare mag holder would have made a lot more sense if it was attached parallel to the left side of the reciever with some kind of simple spring loaded clip.
