Today we are looking at examples of the 1st pattern (Type E) and second pattern (Type G) FG42, comparing their construction and disassembling both to get a close look at the internal differences. Despite sharing the basic mechanism, these two models share zero parts in common, not even the bayonets or magazines. Off topic But does anyone else have mixed feelings on the partnership with GetEnteredToWin? On the one hand. Its cool. Its getting cool stuff out there and is fun. It helps support Forgotten Weapons, which is awesome. On the other hand it feels very... "influencer" (for lack of a better word). The kind of thing I expect to see on Twitch or from Video Game streamers, or my wife's vlogger channels.

(Shrug). I ignore it, just as I ignore other lottery advertisements.

noooo. there is noo corruption in germany to these days *cough!! ok frankly if I'd have 8grans for a repro... the fg would be very very tempting! germans... who wouldn't make magazins the same. would like the clip guides other than that and the looks... 2nd pattern!

Wow...I knew they were different, but this takes being a different version to a whole other level. Some poor Luftwaffe armorer, several decades ago, was steadily pulling his hair out.

Wish I could afford a repo
