GOD what a beautiful & haunting experience this was! A true, living, breathing work of art. Where would you rank this in the GDT Pantheon???

Been sick for a few days now and I finally feel like I have energy to move (not much) and I see I've missed some pretty damn good reactions on here! So I'm going to start with this and see where my energy takes me from there but from what I remember of this movie (Haven't seen it since it came out) it was mentally and emotionally exhausting because I felt nothing but terror the entire movie for that poor little girl so that might be all the energy I have for today! 😅🤣🤣

Man.... walking into Pan's Labyrinth blind... probably imagining that it would be a nice fairy tale (ignoring the "R" rating lol).... and then you get to the scene with the captain dealing with the two farmers that first night. I saw the color drain from John and Tara's faces. Wonderful movie. Creepy, beautiful, and sad.

This was the first film I ever saw by Guillermo Del Toro, and I think it is his best! That little girl played her part with such strength, and at the same time was as vulnerable as a hummingbird shell. Many of the other actors enhanced and brought this story to vivid and spectacular life. I recommend you also see The Devil’s Backbone, widely considered a sister-film to Pan’s Labyrinth. The haunting score and dazzling visuals make this a masterpiece in any language. Bravo!
