UGHHH FUCKIN NETFLIX! Making us wait years for this season, giving us 4 episodes to binge in one night and then making us wait another month. So brutal. SPOILERS AHEAD: Anyone get Avengers Infinity War/End Game vibes from that big fight at the end of this episode? Vecna slowly walking in, framed like Thanos and then Will taking control to stop the demogorgon's was their Cap summoning Mjolnir moment.

Does anybody else feel like Steve is having an ego battle with Jonathan because of the way he got beat up, and not competing for Nance's attention. It feels like Steve/Nancy are not romantically interested in each other anymore. At least by Steve's and Nancy's interactions so far this season.

Nowhere Man

You previously mentioned that the romantic subplots have all mostly fizzled, as least during the first 3 episodes of the season. If romance is something you desperately wanted out of this show, then that focus shift (from rom com to action flick) would be disappointing. But... (in my opinion) all stories can benefit from having a clear intent, and not cluttering the dialog and plot with excessive, unnecessary baggage. An example of this is Hunger Games. If you read the books (after watching the movies), you'd be shocked to find that Katniss doesn't think about men and relationships and love and sex and marriage AT ALL. She's always hyper-focused on surviving. That's who she is. But in the movies, there was a concerted effort to overemphasize the love triangle, as though Katniss's love life was somehow more important that the fate of the entire country. When I watched the movies (the first few times), I was always annoyed by this. The dialog and the plot and the tone kept getting mired down in this depressing decision that Katniss was supposed to make about which man she prefers. And every time I saw that play out, I kept thinking, "What exactly is this movie series about, anyway? Is it about war or is it some silly period piece about unresolved love that's set in a weirdly dystopian future? To me, the movies weakened themselves by obsessing over Katniss's future husband, instead of focusing on how Katniss the Survivalist is going to leverage the entire country out of a civilization-ending civil war. Decide what story you're trying to tell, and tell that story, not the stories the marketing department says you should tell. So if this show wants to set all of Princess-Bride-like "true love" moments aside, that's fine with me. How could any of the characters even think about the future when there's some nearly-omnipotent being who's actively trying to destroy the entire world (by turning it into some version of the Upside Down). Save the romance-novel tropes for the survivors, whoever they end up being. ...in my opinion. --- I had a feeling, this whole time, that Will the Wise (the wizard) was a massive foreshadowing. If only he could shoot (green or red) fireballs out of his hands.

I think Steve backed off as Jonathon is now down with her. Before Jonathon was still in a separate state. This to me is why he's less forward with it directly towards Nancy and instead trying to one up Jonathon.

I feel like vecna didn't go into the cave/rocks, because he didn't have any signal/power in there. Like your cellphone signal goes out the window when the surrounding environment won't let the signal through. I believe the tears were more he messed up claiming her again, and that really hurt his ego again after failing to finish her off in season 4. Just my thoughts on it.

I like this theory. Or just the feeling of being powerless made him terrified.

My theory after binging all episodes from season 1 - Spoiler ahead.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. Vecna is trying to use Will as his/mindflayer's vessel. As in he will want to take over his body permanently. That is why he is abducting 12 children to build something. And he succeeds. And the final battle would be Will vs Eleven. Which also explains Mike as common love interest. Even though it is unrequited from Will's side. That might be a reason for how Vecna manipulates him and weakens his mind. And one thing Duffer brothers said is the ending is something that has always been set from the beginning of their process even though much of in betweens has changed.

Are Andrew and Tara going to be watching too?

I'm definitely over the love triangle and I wish Joyce had more to do. she feels pushed to the side. those would be my only gripes thus far

Like okay Demogorgon was deity with two baboon face shot out death rays of insanity. Doctor K was name who made Master Chief squad as well. Really 8 returns okay. Technically line about sorcerer is correct no book except sorcerer come in 2000s 3 edition but sound of logic. This get surprise 10/10 glad see few novels beside me there. Like yes November 3 was election day but it was off cycle because the mayors race was 1985 and yes it was 22 degrees at night often there.

Hollys dreams seems like a Disney movie, she somewhat dressed like Snow White and I think max could be the girl from Brave

Am I the only one that thinks this season looks 95% on green screen? It’s taking me out of the show a little bit and don’t remember it looking like this in previous seasons

Got to have John react to The Great Escape. One of the best war films of all time. :)
