No Guerilla attacks on the larger force to slow them down ? In the forest, any large force with a mass of non-combatants is a pretty soft target.

Ok you have been posting a lot so I need to set things straight before I get any more notifications. Viv's side is not a kingdom with standing forces. They are a frontier town with a bunch of hunters and town guards. They don't have elite scouts. They don't have dedicated guerilla fighters. They don't have an army. Solfis is not capable of killing three hundred soldiers on their guards and even if he could, he would not risk getting disabled or running out of battery and failing Viv. Irao does not obey assassination orders, I made that excessively clear when the character was introduced. In other words, THEY ARE NOT A HIGHLY TRAINED FORCE PREPARED FOR A LARGE SCALE CONFLICT. Now keep reading if you want but stop thinking about what's the optimal way to do things every time because THEY CAN'T DO IT. They don't have the resources. That's it.
