This is one of my favorite YouTube videos of all time, and I still revisit it a good bit. I remember watching these guys and their son and daydreaming about having a life like that one day. It’s one of those videos that makes you kick your feet and smile. I love the way it’s shot and how it’s a great example of getting to step into someone else’s shoes, even just for a bit. There’s a part where they’re driving around and go by Matt’s childhood cabin, and it’s just the perfect touch of past and present. Huge inspiration of mine.

Their videos are always good-I remember coming across this video-I love winter cabin times and it resonated with me. When I see these type of videos I kinda think of how different my life would be if I had these images growing up. My life is pretty good as it is but I just imagine what different choices I would have made had I been exposed to these types of images and there not been any closet to hide inside. This has all the feels…!

Thanks for posting this! I haven't watched Matt and Blue in a long while... basically since back in the day when you started posting on youtube Zach! I've got to catch up. Two things deeply resonated with me: I feel joy hearing children laugh, and I think making great new memories based on your favorite old memories is the meaning of life (maybe because it overrides nostalgia or feelings of loss and longing for the past?). I like the (small) city but I love the forest.

It’s just the way life should be if on people had more open minds.
