I feel sad now. Like depressing sad. Knowing Evil Eye's past just made her part hit harder. And as for E and Climb, I hope this leads to Climb's road to recovery. Alysanne would probably end herself while stabbing that noble prick if she ever learned the truth. Though I guess knowing someone cares about her earnestly might help her mind.

Good read! I am a bit uncertain how I feel about Satoru being away from the kingdom and all these other characters for so long... I keep wanting him to swoop in and interact with any of them. Evileye can teleport, right?And I get he may not be aware of that, but teleportation of some form would then be at a tier he can publicly cast. Or he could at least be more involved through messages? I wasn't disturbed by it for a long time, but it's starting to feel like he's missing quite a bit.

There's a difference between teleport that everyone knows and is T3... or 4 and greater teleport that Satoru knows that's T7 I think. But yea I agree that even if Hilma is giving him updates, he's missing WAY too much. Especially when he easily could just port back talk with EE then port back to his party in at most an hour or 2. Then there's the fact that in his inventory he has some certain items that'd definitely help king and Aly mental and emotional health. Shame no one has thought to ask him about if he has any rare ancient items that can use Res or Wish 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I agree. For teleportation, I'm just thinking of the Blue Rose/Evileye conversation after the Jaldabeoth ark when Momon is leaving where she asks Evileye why she didn't just set a teleport point in E-Rantel so that she could see Momon again.

LMAO. I forgot about that. I think the distance and time from E-Rantel is much easier to teleport using standard teleportation then going from Kingdom to Dwarves is. I know it's based off D&D but no idea what edition was used, so I'll go with the assumption of the general spell use. So it's a fixed max distance plus additional 5 miles per caster lvl (max lvl 5). I think.

I see what you are saying, and actually he easily could use magic to do that and be descreet about it. The true problem is, is he willing to do so and stress himself even more? Remember that right now he is dealing with Renner and Lakyus who are trying to uproot a power system and pacify two sworn enemies who have far too much blood between them. He could go back to the kingdom and deal with Evileye too, but he initially wanted to leave exactly for that reason, he is no good with politics and was forced to work much more since his ascension to nobility. He wanted to visit the dwarves to relax and get away from his duties, and now he is trapped in the middle of a political/societal mess, i don't see him being eager to go back right now to add even more to that mess. For his own sanity at least. So, it's not that he can't, it is more likely he is unwilling to do it.

Thanks for the response! I can agree and disagree with this. Yeah, Satoru has limits and isn't a perfect human, and he does like to dodge responsibility on that stuff... But Hilma might be a better "assistant" than Albedo in that regard, as she won't automatically assume he knows all and everything is his plan. Ignoring growing problems back in the kingdom like the second princess' fiasco and a nosey adamantine adventure is also likely to lead to far greater stress and problems down the road... Which, now that I'm saying it, sounds like a method of driving the plot. I'm sure it'll come out in an interesting and satisfying way. I'm just starting to have difficulty suspending my disbelief that Hilma and Satoru are dropping the ball quite this much when they're functional, problem solving adults with a good working relationship.

It's not "might" It's she definitely IS a better assistant. She knows Satoru has flaws and overlooks/ thinks alot of stuff. She works hard to help him, and doesn't sneak off to her room to " cuddle" a life sized pillow of him. Nor does she misinterpreted orders. Nor go off deep end and become a murder hobo. Jesus, Albedo really wasn't/ isn't a great assistant when you start to write it down.

Oh i’m sure that ignoring problems is gonna bite him in the ass sooner or later. Hilma is definitely a better assistant than Albedo, but she is also a traumatized human being who is dealing with a lot of stress and might not be able to work everything out perfectly, while Satoru is pretty much hellbent to ignoring problems till they smack him in the face.

Not her specifically more her actions, going behind her betroths back with another man only for that other man to bang her friend, classic cheaters karma story. Now I'm waiting for the fallout of this, will she kill herself or wont she? what about the noble behind Erik? what will he do? What about Jirkniv who's pulling his strings? The Drama! The humanity! Plus its just fun when high and mighty characters like queens and princesses lose their minds. I'm a drama queen.

Oh my this chapter is kinda depressing but it's also hope for Climb, Edstrom. Evileye past is sad, especially if you read her past in the spin-off story.
