YES Arche and Rayne FINALLY KISSED!! Satoru needs to send a warning to Arche parents for trying to sell the stuff he gave her.

Mike

"Hormonal 13 year olds" that in fact have feelings for each other, it would seem. It was a cute addition to this chapter. Especially with how much Rigret just pisses people off. Speaking of which, I feel you might be setting her up to be an antagonist in a future arc.

Hornet

You know what just accured to me? Satoru could probably use "Wish Upon a Star" to get the knowledge on how to cast, and teach, the magic he knows in the way natives of this world do. It should allow him to start inventing new spells, help him in teaching his apprentices, and just all around increase his versatility greatly.

Max Heslip

He probably could, but he should only have one Shooting Star artifact on his person which means he'd have only three charges or wishes. Not sure if he knows the actual spell on his own, but even if he does then he'd risk going down a level because of the experience cost. So he'd have to decided that knowledge is worth one of his three free wishes, but even if he did he wouldn't be able to learn new spells or invent anything new. He'd be able to teach better, but that's about it. Satoru is still bound by game rules that limit how many spells he can cast, thus if he ever wanted to learn a new spell he'd have to some how give up an old one. The only way to bypass game rules like that are very specific world items that Satoru doesn't have and which might not even be in the new world. It is an interesting idea though, but knowing Satoru he probably will just keep winging the teaching thing while slowly gaining some knowledge on his own. Who know though the future can be filled with surprises.

I could do with less focus on the said hormonal 13 year old extras, frankly. Other than that, I'll wait and see what you're cooking. The whole time skip thing was a great idea, it will really spin up all the cogs nicely. The most shocking thing about the chapter was Barbro actually cooling down and listening there at the end, not that it does much to help him.

Total honesty the rayne x arche stuff is one my favourite things about this fic and i cant wait see where it goes. especially interested to see what finally brings the conflict between her and her parents to a boiling point

ZeroSenpai Writer

Rayne's creation is quite interesting imo, when i first introduced him he should have been a simple extra side character you might see every once in 20 chapters. Then, when Arche joined, i felt like having someone with a background so different interact with her on a daily basis would have been compelling character development. From there the character basically wrote itself in my mind, and today it is probably the favorite OC i ever created.

ZeroSenpai Writer

Renner is pulling her strings and apparently he is part of something already planned. Also, i get not everyone is going to get invested with all characters and storylines, it would be presumptious of me to think otherwise since not even authors far more famous and better than me had managed to do so.

ZeroSenpai Writer

Who knows, she certainly is wary of Satoru and his nature, i would say it is a reflection of PDL's feelings on it. I doubt they would work together so much if they weren't on the same page on certain matters.

Mike

While that is certainly true, just something about her just feels "Wicked Witch" with secret plots within secret plots wrapped in shadowy plans. Also I get her being "Immortal" thanks to ritual, so she is probably emotionally disconnected with people that still have hearts like EvilEye.

Max Heslip

Thanks for another great chapter! Starting with the Evileye stuff which was enlightening on just how alone she has been even during her time with the other heroes. It even demonstrated how her new bonds are setting off some suspicion from her old ally, which may or may not turn into something bigger latter on. Moving onto Renner who seems to be setting up her brother for a big fall. With the common people, the nobility, or her father maybe even all of them I'm not sure, but she's scheming. Finally the Rayne and Arche stuff was nice with them both getting into some complicated stuff, but I doubt either of them were thinking of that when they were having their moment. By the way those two should be on the cusp of tier three magic, which will be quite the cool moment and exciting achievement for those two. At the end of the last arc Rayne was level 16ish while Arche was 20ish. (ish meaning 1-2 levels may vary). Rayne because of his sickness doesn't have any other levels in anything except for magic so far, which is quite the boon to him in a kinda sad way. So at the minimum he should have 14 levels in magic classes thus being at the pinnacle of tier two at the least. If he's gotten to level 15 in these months since the end of the last arc or was already there he should have the potential to cast third tier magic. Potential of course only means he now has the ability and still needs to learn/master a tier three spell. That should be the last hurtle for the two since Arche may be level 20ish but three of those are in noble which isn't a magic class thus if were going with the minimum levels she has in magic classes she'd have 15. So she definitely has the potential to cast tier three, but just needs to cross the last hurtle of learning a spell to reach the peak of a normal human. I'm quite enjoying this time skip arc and thanks again for this amazing story!

Thanks so much for the chapter. I'm so happy they finally gave into their feelings. And I'm so curious what rigrit will say to PDL

Mike

I feel calling Rigrit her "ally" is a stretch, I got the feeling she was manipulated/strong armed into joining. And the part where she basically says(without actually saying it) that her "Ally" incinerated everyone in her old kingdom (granted it was sort of a funeral pyre, but how venom filled her words were I think they made the choice for her before she was emotionally ready to say goodbye to them) struck a sympathetic/empathetic nerve with me.

Max Heslip

Perhaps. It does seem like she had quite a few difficulties with them, but the fact that she continues to work with them after hundreds of years even after all that implies that they must have had something meaningful before. Even if she is being strong armed into it if she really wanted to rebel she would just disappear like Rigrit mentioned. Thus although being pressured plays a role their seems to be something more to Evileye's decisions. Also it seems at the very least they were a little closer or better put not on such bad terms before PDL's betrayal and what you discussed. However I get what your saying. Maybe a better word would be associate instead.

Mike

Thinking about it again, I'd say your correct, in beginning she probably did think of them as friends, considering her situation before they came along.

Scarstobone

Teenagers are going to teenager, so no surprise but if there isn't a scene at some point where one of them goes "why won't you do {x,y,z} for me" then I have no further guesses to how it will turn out. Evileye is almost certainly going to be stuck defending a bar against dragon fire. My final prediction involves Renner having to one day point out how "the evil brother" has locked her away because she decided to help the common people, and start a civil war by herself. Hope some of my predictions are right, and can't wait for the next one.

Bao Phuc Nguyen

This chapter is great ! It shows that behind Evileye's nature and mask, she still has humanity, emotion within her. She's alone and only through 13 heroes' adventures she found companionship for the 1st time. About Arche and Rayne, they are still teenagers afterall, so it has many possibilities ahead. But I am afraid that their relationship will not be well perceived by the upper class. This world is stuck at feudal times, magic only make this world slow to change so these nobles they only value the bloodline, to keep their families's status and wealth and they will never accept a relationship with a commoner no matter how talented he is.
