New Chapter for The Witch and the Sorcerer!

I sought it for so long, i longed for it desperately. The memories that slip my mind year after year, to be one, to have one... We are all lost without them... The only string that keeps making music for my soul... My everlasting comrades.

This chapter was both tense af and cute af. Great work! I'm very interested to see how Renner will interact with this trio in the future.

What kind of comrades do you think Satoru is going to find? Maybe create a new version of AOG.

Duriel

Excellent chapter! I know Satoru can empathize with Evileye here… I hope he can communicate that to her as well. Now, when is he going to reveal this to Renner?

Chagatai

A pity Edstrom died. I liked your version of her.

I've slowly read this story this past month and it was quite enjoyable. Thank you for your work! That being said I think you should scold your editor, if there is one. There's a number of typos that jump out when reading and seems like autocompleted changed words too. I would also suggest uploading chapters in epub format too. Idk how you all read pdf, but to have the text completely malleable on phone, I had to convert every patreon chapter into epub. Now for what's happening in the story, you know with how much it was hinted that Satoru would be taken unaware and would regret it, his player origins coming out to Hilma, nothing seems to have happened that he should regret? In fact now he has a more meaningful connection to Hilma and Evileye, so he should be happy about it instead. I myself thought Rigrit or PDL would find out Evileye leaked info and would "silence" Hilma, Satoru feeling his undead guard vanishing and freaking out. Though I didn't read those TWS Historical Entries on purpose, in which Hilma was probably mentioned, because they seemed like spoilers. Those chapter preambles seem like spoilers enough. PDL ordering her death, hypocritically uncaring of the chaos disruption to Seven Hands would bring, would also have been in line to your changes to PDL. In canon he is firmly on the good moral spectrum, but here he is certainly at best neutral. What with him personally killing his "comrade" player who was actually doing good. You know I have no idea how this version of Rigrit could forgive someone like that lol. In canon it seems like he could have prevented the tragedy or something, if he didn't deceive them, but here he straight up murdered him. Anyway, he's a far bigger bastard than in canon. So my guess for the future of this story is that PDL will have some tensions with Big Bone, but he will not be the final boss. He has shown that he would gladly kill any player, but with Satoru he will fuck around and find out that he isn't capable of killing him. If the preambles of the chapters here should be taken into consideration then, as some historian dude wrote, it seems that Satoru will at some point come out publicly as a level 100 godlike figure. Now PDL certainly wouldn't want to make Satoru's power be known publicly, as that could push him into a God persona with all that implies. So I guess the only thing that could make him come out is the appearance of some immature/evil Player and or a horde of NPCs. They will appear when Ainz came to the New World in canon. Then PDL will begrudgingly ally with Big Bone to take care of it. Cue the PDL moral redemption and character growth, letting go of his dark side hatred. Anyway, that's my predictions for the future. Thanks again for this story. I'm looking forward to more of it. Best to forget about it for half a year now haha to let chapters pile up.

In regards to your character analysis of PDL, I thinks it’s pretty spot on with a few details. PDL killing his player companion was likely out of his own fear of what happened with the greed kings and the devastation they caused to his family and the world. PDL saw his growing power and knowing about his nature had him make a split second decision to end the leader, a decision he likely regrets. We’ve got to remember that PDL in canon seemingly holds himself in low regard and claims he holds his own sins. We’ve got to remember that what we know of his past actions is told from Evileye, who is already bitter about her old companions, so there is some bias tensions here. Maybe there is a solid reason as to why PDL did what he did. That’s for Zero to write out and for us to read and comment on. With this version of Satoru, maybe he’ll see a whole new perspective about the nature of players and turn around. I definitely agree with you that these two will conflict with each other but may turn up as allies against another threat.
