Curiosity Poll #5 (Patreon)

Hello everyone, I come to you in peace with a gift, another curiosity poll!

Up until now, I had in mind to polish the game through 1) the addition of a reminiscence room complete with all the scenes in the save files, so you wouldn't have to rely on the saves anymore to re-watch the scenes and 2) developing several new freeroam H events and modification of certain scenes to enhance the beginning of the game with more sexy stuff.

At first, the idea was to do it along with developing main + side quests. However, The several updates before the end of the game took a lot longer to develop due to having longer quests and more complex H scenes, so the  polishing got pushed to the side and I haven't been able to work on it as much as I had expected, which resulted in a severe delay.

I have thought about it, and decided it might be good to have an extra update (number 12) dedicated solely to side content. In such an update, I wouldn't add any main quests or side-quests, but only new H freeroam events and a reminiscence room that would be ready before the endings.

So it would go like that: On the 10th of July, I will publish Update 11, with the last main quest before the endings + one last side quest involving Neve, Thania and Solana at the same time. Subsequently, on the 10th of August, I would upload an update with only freeroam events and the newly added reminiscence room. 

But before I do that, I wanted to ask your opinion. Would you be okay with a update solely dedicated to polishing the game? 

Advantages would be: -a lot more freeroam events, -reminiscence room ready before the endings, -more time for me to commission assets before starting to work on HC3(good thing for me actually^^), but more waiting time before the endings.

Or should I just keep working as normal, adding a few freeroam events along with developing the endings, and not have an update solely dedicated to them?

Advantages would be: -less waiting time before the endings, but less freeroam events at the end of the day, and a reminiscence room that would only came in 2-3 months.

The poll will be up until the 3rd of July, 20pm CEST. Since it is only a curiosity poll, all votes will be counted equally.

the freeroam events are great at fleshing out the village and marking just how corrupted each of the girls have become over the course of the story, so adding more of them is definitely a good thing

it seems to me that it is not necessary to add anything, but to concentrate on rest and writing a new story for HC3. Repeating scenes is not bad, but it is not so important to devote a whole month to it, I think in 2-3 months after the end of the game, if it comes out, it will be good. Many new players will start using such rooms and will not go through the main plot.

If there were less days/times I'd say flesh out freeroam but with 10? different slots to go through it just becomes "CG hunting" essentially. Plus a reminiscence room isn't really needed as you provide saves for each of the events as well, could easily be a post game update.

I'm totally down with an update of nothing but free-roam events, but would it be possible to have a section of the reminiscence room with the town in various stages of corruption, so I can see any free-roam events from earlier in the game that I missed, or that got added after I'd already moved past that part of the game? I'm sure I'll play through the whole game again eventually, and I'll see them all at that point, but it'd be nice if I could see them in the recollection room without first having to play through everything again.

Thanks for the feedback! It appears people really have different opinions about freeroam events, which is why I set up this poll, so I can see who would enjoy them and who wouldn't. As for the room, people will have to see the scene first before unlocking it in the reminiscence room, so they will have to go through the main plot anyway : )

Well, the good thing is that, if players aren't interested in freeroam events, they can easily skip them altogether. For those who are indeed interested in seeing all of them but don't wish to explore, the walkthrough provides a log with the time and place + conditions needed to activate every freeroam event. As for the reminiscence, save files have always been a temporary way to bypass the need for a reminiscence room, but it's been planned from the get-go to implement it in game at some point. If people agree on a side-content update, I'd rather add the reminiscence room along with it, so I can have it ready before the endings and then focus on them afterwards : )

It might actually take a bit too much time to add them all to the reminiscence room, to be completely honest. However, one way to do it would be to look at the walkthrough, then use one of the saves provided to go back earlier in the game and clear the conditions to see the new freeroams. The reasons why I don't plan on adding freeroam events to the reminiscence room is because they are really short, there are a lot of them, and since they are repeatable, players can easily save in front of them as watch them as much as they want : ) That's why I'm focusing on bigger scenes that can be seen only once for the room.

well as most might know, I am quite an eager advocate for free-roaming events.^^ And as discussed in the PoL of this week I really would like to see an update focused only on free-roaming events. Arguments beeing: - one of the best gameplay features, making perfect use of the RPGM engine and the open world/role-playing aspect. - a good way to implement sexual scenes for those who desire to see more of the corruption process and not only the bigger jumps within the story. The corruption process is flashed out in a more detailed manner. - offer a good break from the linear and long story and give you something mysterious and something to discover on your own. - its an adult game - you want to see adult scenes - free-roaming scenes provide exactly such scenes. - the beginning of the game contains too little action and too much story input/talking. More freeroaming scenes could make a big difference here - finally freeroaming scenes offer more content and that is all we want

i dont mind either with the free roaming. For me, you could take a bit more time then a month to polish the game. There a re so many stages of corruption, story and places that it will need a mount of time to go through. Maybe you could putt some scenes more hidden, so we need to search for them to find them :D

For me, I don't I think it's a matter of whether I'd mind more free roam, especially when paired with good dialogue.

I think some of the freeroam are already pretty well-hidden, but maybe not enough^^ Personally, I think a month should be fine for the polishing if it consists in freeroam events and reminiscence room : )
