And part 03 of "The Surface" is out! "The Surface" is the story of what happened in the original "Diving Girls" between Chihaya blacking out with Aya in tow and Chihaya waking up in the hospital 2 days later. 1st half: <a href="https://johnlydiaparker.deviantart.com/art/The-Surface-3-1st-half-720611450" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://johnlydiaparker.deviantart.com/art/The-Surface-3-1st-half-720611450</a> 2nd Half: <a href="https://johnlydiaparker.deviantart.com/art/The-Surface-3-2nd-half-720610806" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://johnlydiaparker.deviantart.com/art/The-Surface-3-2nd-half-720610806</a>

I've done it!!! I've figured out the internal arrangement of the Yaeyama-maru! Still in rough "figuring it out" form, but the rest is easy (For me anyway). It matches all external and internal pictures of it, and not only that, but every picture on "Diving Girls" is matched, and it's location and orientation within the ship determined, and every hatch in the background is present! It also makes the stories work as written, (relative distances and such), and is also functional as a profitable fishing vessel. (There's a lot of hold area marked "fish hold.") The has to be an obstruction on the deck below the mess hall and a little aft of it roughly amidships, at least for Diving Girls; it may or may not still be present by the time of 5 Minute Summer. If it is, leading candidate is that the hull (and the bulkhead) there buckled upwards due to there being a large rock on the seafloor under it where the ship came to rest. Or a hopelessly jammed hatch. Interestingly, just how far forward the air pocket used to extend is completely unknown; we've never actually seen a forward bulkhead. Also would be interesting to see the bridge or engine room sometime, assuming they're not completely blocked off.

By the way Savaster, I'm pretty sure you thought through how it's laid out at least some, if not having an actual sketch. If it weren't for that, figuring it out would have been far more difficult, if not impossible.

Thank you! It looks great!
