It was very quiet now. Through her blurred underwater vision, Eri understood that she was now the only one remaining under perched atop a 30-meter deep concrete bottom. That was natural, she thought, as one of the few servicewomen aboard a commissioned Self-Defense ship, she felt needed to constantly excel in an otherwise all-men unit. 

Was she already beyond the unit goal? Probably, but that no longer matter now, as her thoughts were blank and there was nothing but the thump of her own heartbeat in her ears.
