Without the chest compressions, what’s to guarantee any of Ken’s (or anyone else’s) air won’t also just leak back out into the water? She’s lost control of the ability to breathe for herself, that much is obvious, but it’s also likely worse than that. Her heart may not even be beating. Chihaya’s best bet was always, and continues to be, the surface. The issue now is who can get her there?
