This is a fantastic idea! This reminds me of an idea I tried out of an orca as a planetary sized spaceship some years back. After lore building for a week, I finally spent a few hours trying to draw them before realizing, "... I'm literally just... drawing a circle in space..." And my motivation fizzled 🤣

There is a DLC for Stellaris that lets you create a monster that acts as a body for your entire population, and it can destroy entire worlds. If it had been just a creature, I might have been into it. Maybe you'd be intersted since it's kinda similar.
