Workflow Tip For Liquid On Face (Patreon)

"Liquid." 😏
Wanted to share a smooth way creating facials, which I'm putting to use in the Harley/Catwoman Render Collection (9 image set releasing next week for Dukes and Barons).
All I'm basically doing is using a retopology workflow for facials, the "Face Project" snapping feature and the Shrinkwrap modifier being the two focal points.
Start with a single plane and position it appropriately (when in the "placement" or "blocking" phase, it's always good to use as little geometry as possible).

Add a shrinkwrap modifier set to the body mesh, and set your "snap" settings appropriately.

Now, you can slide the plane over the mesh and it'll stick! Further, we'll add these modifiers (in this order), to subdivide, shrinkwrap, solidify, and subdivide AGAIN (to make sure our liquid is nice and smooth).

Finally, the fun part. Use the extrude function to place your mesh over the subject. Think about WHERE the liquid originated from (I.E., if it's shooting over the face, think about how it would land, the direction and momentum, etc).

Hope this helps! Will be using this technique multiple times in the render set, so look forward to it.
Back soon!
