Random warm-up sketch! A new picture of that egyptian kitty I drew 1-2 years ago, who happens to be the counterpart/ rival/ nemesis of my anubian jackal. Such a mischievous feline!

She'll also appear in the sci-fi egyptian universe I have in the works :)

On a side note, the colored version of that Deathclaw picture is almost complete and it'll be posted here tomorrow or on Saturday!

Interesting inversion on the symbolism, since in some versions of Egyptian mythology Anubis and Bast are husband and wife. I'm guessing that's deliberate?

Ah it’s the ancient Egyptian Goddess Bastet. She is the Goddess of protection, cats, perfume/ointments, fertility, pregnancy, children, music, the arts, and warfare. A proper adaptation I think. 😍😉

More or less! My anubian jackal girl and this cat lady have a deep love/hate relationship, so they're lovers and rivals at the same time. That idea came to my mind when I heard Anubis and Bastet are lovers, combined with the classic "Cat vs Dogs" rivalry.

Thanks! It'll be a nice challenge, but I can't wait to draw that Sci-fi Egyptian setting. Mixing ancient Egypt stuff and futuristic technology with plenty of neon lights and such will be a fun experience :D
