Maybe because technically, you can't tattoo fur? But probably just because the artiste is not that much into them (yet).

Like Julian said, you can't really tattoo fur, you could try and dye it and do something to hold it in place, but that's not a good or long term solution. I've heard that instead of branding, a cold-freeze style application can alter the hair follicles, so that they are a different color, but still the same problem.
