Can Pokemon Into Naruto?

Chapter 7

-VB-

“Alright, Power Spin!”

It was a combination of two moves: Rapid Spin and Power Trick. Rapid Spin was just that: baltoy spun fast and attacked his enemy with his arms and horns like cutting saws and drills. However, baltoys weren’t the strongest physical attackers, so Rapid Spin didn’t strike as hard as it could.

But it could strike harder with Power Trick, which switched a pokemon’s defense and offense stats temporarily. Since baltoy’s physical defense was higher than his physical attack, this benefited his physical attacks that came after it.

And considering that he was a literal ceramic, he went from having the hardy defense of a ceramic plate to having the edge of a ceramic blade.

And boy oh boy did he cut through things with the power and efficiency of an electronic saw.

The tree that baltoy skidded past creaked and then slowly slid down diagonally where baltoy cut it, and then finally fell over.

“TIMBER!”

The croaking and groaning a tree falling caught people’s attention, and they watched from afar as the tree crashed down to the ground.

Once we were sure that it was safe and no other tree got caught up in the fall, we moved in to process the fallen tree.

I took in a short breath before I put strength into my back, pulled on my aura, and swung my axe down. Instead of chipping the wood like most axes held by other villagers did, my axe cut clean through the log.

This was work out here, and I was doing my part!

… Man, I missed the internet.

-VB-

Work was usually between dawn to noon, and everyone had afternoon off, regardless of what job they had in the village.

And ever since I began to spread what little knowledge I had, things began to change in the village, which included new jobs.

The iron axe that I and the other loggers had? I made those, and we were using them to chop down particularly fast growing trees while not touching the old growth. Farmers pushed their kids to learn under me, and I showed everyone how to turn wood into charcoal.

That was actually easy because all it required was a bunch of wood and mud.

I also taught them that people in towns and cities used charcoal a lot because it was a good fuel source, better than wood. Blacksmiths in particular wanted either coal or charcoal because it helped them forge better steel.

So now, there was a budding charcoal industry in the village, but under my advisement, we only went after fast growing trees, which the villagers identified. Why? Because I told them that old growth trees helped filter water, hold soil, and provide shelter. I mean, they knew it, too, but it helped them make their decision after hearing some random stranger agree with what they knew.

So I was now doing my second pokemon related experiment: eggs.

See, chickens weren’t abundant but there were still enough of them here that the villagers gave half a dozen of egg-laying hens to me.

What are you doing now, master?

I looked over my shoulder and saw baltoy looking at me, the egg I held, and the needle in my hand.

“Oh, I’m trying to make a friend for you.”

A friend. For me?

“Yup. I mean, I could try to make more baltoys, but you said you didn’t want more of you around, right?”

Yes.

He never explained himself either, but I’d gone with it because why not? My boy wanted something, and that something was less baltoys around.

So instead, I was trying to make more pokemons who weren’t baltoys.

And I had a solution to three problems in these chicken eggs.

First off, they weren’t baltoys. Check.

Second, I needed an easy source of “materials” to make money with me. Eggs came by for free as long as I fed the hen. Check.

Third, fire was at a premium around here, and that meant that I was burning goodwill and money just trying to forge something. A chicken fire-type that could spit fire whenever I needed it to? That solved that problem, check.

Yes, I was trying to make a torchic.

Aside from those problem-solving benefits, torchic eventually evolved into blaziken, who were extremely powerful fighter-fire types. Some of the shit they can pull off would put them up there alongside jounins (I think) and since I was in the Naruto world, I really needed protection.

Master, I can provide protection.

“Well, I know you can,” I said as I needled the egg, which … would somehow get me a torchic? “But you can’t be everywhere at once, now can you?”

… No.

“Besides, you can’t grow strong and big if you’re next to me all of the time, you know?” I hummed. “Sometimes, to grow strong, you have to leave your old life behind, even if you come back for it later.”

I will never leave you, master.

I laughed. “You say that now but things change, baltoy. Things always change.”

I set the needled egg down and moved onto the next one.

I paused as my mind clunked away. Instead of a needle, I pulled out a metal bowl that I’d made before. I didn’t know why I made it but I now saw why I had (kind of). I set the bowl down, put a lot of sand on it, and then the egg on top of it. Then I placed lightly burning charcoal around the bowl. Finally, I put a lid on top of it.

… Not sure what I was doing, actually. I just moved by instinct but this looked more like some kind of ritual than -.

Oh, it’s an incubation unit.

I put the needled egg into it as well.

I wondered how quickly these eggs will hatch.

As for the rest of the eggs, I needed protein today.
