Can Pokemon into Naruto?

Chapter 28

-VB-

Sunagakure.

It sat right on the border of two ecological zones: the extreme desert at the heart of the Land of Wind and the less extreme but nonetheless still wind-swept and dune-swept desert close to the Land of Rivers.

While the location chosen by the founding clans had been perfect for defense in an era where an attack by the forest-making Senju was a real threat, it was a horrible location for geographical reasons.

“An unaffiliated ninja summoner healer?” Yondaime Kazekage Rasa repeated after looking up from the report delivered to him.

“Hai,” the Konohagakure headband wearing spy nodded. “He has become significant enough that at least three different missions have come across him.”

“Three, you say? Can you state them for me?”

“Hai. The first two involve Jounin Kurenai. The first mission was a standard recon into the rural countryside for bandit hideouts and possible missing-nins. The second mission was a requested mission from the local minor noble wanting an investigation into giant insects. In both missions, Jounin Kurenai and her genin team made contact with the village healer. The second mission involving Jounin Kurenai was when Konohagakure discovered that the healer in question is capable of creating artificial ninja animals.”

“... I see. He will be a significant boon to Sunagakure if we can get our hands on him, then.”

“Hai. Jounin Kurenai put in her report that the healer confirmed it. It was his hands that created a variety of chakra animals that can think as good as if not better than most of the ninken of Inuzuka Clan. And some of them have been able to pierce through genjutsus as well.”

“And … if I am reading this report correctly, then this healer refused the offer to join Konohagakure?”

“Yes, Kazekage-sama.”

Rasa hummed.

Now, why would Jounin Kurenai just leave the obviously talented individual alone? Had it been an order from the Hokage to the jounin? Was it another one of Sandaime Hokage’s soft approaches?  Was the situation disadvantageous enough for the jounin to back off? If the latter was true and not the former, then this was something to look into.

Kurenai was listed in the Bingo Book as a genjutsu specialist, and if the spy in front of him was reporting truthfully, she was also in charge of a genin team filled with clan heirs. If that was true, then the Konoha nin had been correct in backing off.

He reached underneath and pulled out a small bag. He tossed it at the spy, who caught it and opened it up. Instead of gold coins, the bag held Land of Fire promissory notes. The spy was quick to bow and leave.

And after the Konoha nin was gone did he call for his ANBU.

“I need a team of ANBU for this mission.”

The Yondaime Mizukage was dead.

But his death was one of controversy and mystery. It became widely known that the Mizukage who had condoned his own village to brutal practices that got it to be called the Bloody Mist had been under someone’s control. It was why the entire village, despite having suffered under his hands, mourned for him.

“Not a bloodline user but a researcher of some kind?” Godaime Mizukage Terumi Mei asked her spy.

“Hai, Mizukage-sama,” the Kiri-nin nodded. This one had been a spy operating in the southern Land of Fire. His partner had gone missing some time ago, which had been ruled as either desertion or mission complication. “The nobles I’ve talked to were all intrigued by this healer’s existence, especially since the medicine they managed to procure from the village in question proved effective as a general health booster in diluted form and a potent wound healer when concentrated.”

“That’s something we could use for ourselves,” Mei hummed. “And the capabilities of the healer in question beyond medicine?”

“If the monsters no one ever saw from that region is any indication, then we may have someone close to Orochimaru’s level of chakra and biology expertise.”

“We should secure him for our village,” her advisor, Ao, spoke up from the side. “If Konohagakure hasn’t moved in, then it’s our chance to do so before they change their mind. Our village’s lack of sentient summons or chakra animals has long been a weakness that we could not overcome. But if they can be manufactured and raised…”

“It might put us on par with Kumo,” Mei hummed. “Very well. Thank you for the intel once again.”

The spy saluted and left.

The Mizukage turned to the hidden ANBU in the corner of her room. “Find me a team of ANBU, at least jounin-grade. They need to be experts in infiltration, extraction, and stealth. We cannot have Konohagakure’s ire at this stage of our rebuilding.”

“Hai.”

As the ANBU left, she let out a sigh.

“Is this wise?” Ao asked. “If Konohagakure realizes that we took such a talent from the Land of Fire, that is a casus belli, especially if this talent is enough for Konohagakure to take notice in the first place.”

“It’s only a man,” she replied with a hum as she leaned back and let out a moan as she stretched. “Konohagakure may get upset, but it is a single peasant if the report here is true. A peasant is not enough for them to rise up and do something about it, especially if it is a peasant who had no prior connection to Konohagakure. And Konohagakure doesn’t have authority over the commoners anyway. They can protest diplomatically and maybe even make our lives a little harder around their borders, but the benefits of a healer who can do half of what these rumors say he can do? It’ll be worth it.”

Ao nodded. “If that is what you believe, ma’am.”

“And what if he’s a young single man~? I’m looking for someone, too, you know.”

“Mizukage-sama, you’ve had a few marriage requests from the nobility.”

“And most of them are disgusting! I want a capable young man!”

“Younger than you?”

Definitely younger than me.”

“A researcher, huh?” Orochimaru hummed as he read the report sent to him by Kabuto. “Someone like that would be useful to me…”

The problem, however, was that he was about to launch his plot against Sungakure to take over the Yondaime Kazekage’s body for the upcoming Chunin Exams. He couldn’t afford to send his “elites” to go after his researcher nor could he go himself.

“The dregs will have to do,” he hummed as he called for one of his lesser lieutenants.

Would a dozen chunins be good enough? There was supposedly tactically capable and chakra-capable animals that stood guard around the village. Some of them could even look through genjutsu and simple disguises. This meant that he couldn’t infiltrate the village and kidnap the researcher, especially if he intended to send lesser ninjas.

This meant that he needed to improve the quality of the ninjas for this mission… or send a lot more.

Which would risk Konohagakure getting a scent on his dregs.

But better that he got his researcher before Konohagakure did.

Or, if need be, eliminate him.

So how about two dozen chunins?

“It is obvious to me that a native talent of the Land of Fire should be brought to the Imperial Court (jogoten) to serve!” The Minister of Civil Service, the Jibu Kyo, spoke up from his place at the middle of the long, low table.

Around the room, there were nods and shakes as other ministers and councilors of the Land of Fire reacted to his words.

The elderly Minister of War, the Hyobu Kyo, grunted. “Medicine can be used to treat civilians, conscripts, levies, ninjas, and samurai alike. This is a talent that cannot be allowed to fall into a minor noble or Konohagakure hands. We must send for his healer to reside here in the Imperial Capital and teach others to do what he does.”

“What if he refuses?” The Minister of Justice, the Gyobu Kyo, asked. “If he is truly that capable and we try to force him, then he may seek to flee.”

“Then we send enough soldiers and samurai to make sure that he doesn’t get such a stupid idea. He should be honored that the imperial capital is calling upon him!”

That made most of the ministers and councilors nod in agreement.

And then they bickered over whose men and whose samurai would get the honor of escorting the healer to the imperial capital. Of course, whoever sent their men first would get the first chance to court the man into joining their faction.

A/N: a not-quite filler chapter where news eventually spread either due to time or spy network, and everyone from everywhere are starting to collapse onto our MC.

We have the following in the race!

The Imperial Court of the Land of Fire (potential samurai)

Otogakure.

Sunagakure.

Kirigakure.

Danzo’s ROOT.

Please wish Karl some luck.

And that's how the Elemental Nations whole system fell. Because people can't stop themselves and be assholes. Now, to be fair, I totally understand where they are coming from in the context of the world they live in; they still suck. They whole world suck. A couple of Legendary are going to be a literal godsend to start untangling that mess of a setting.

Made-Wan

This is going to be a clustertfuck and I am looking forward to it.

I'm not sure who is living in their own dream world more. The Imperial Court, who ignores that a pissed off healer could slowly kill them all under 'healing' them as most medicines are also poisons. Or Kirigakure trying to pretend he is only a peasant, so they can 'freely' kidnap him, ignore that if he was a simple peasant, they wouldn't bother trying to kidnap him. Otogakure and Sunagakure are 'slightly' more realistic about it, but they are vastly down playing things, if they just thought about the ramifications (he isn't a 'poorly' protected person and has created things, at least allowed them to see, that provide him a 'decent' protection) in a more clinical sense. Worse is that even Root itself doesn't have a good combat indicator for him, since Kurenai refused to combat him (and the other groups don't have a full report to even try a basic guess at). At best, Root should let others 'capture' him, before rescuing him. Letting them get a feel for his combat abilities and letting him wear down their enemies slightly, before they can swoop in and 'rescue' him. Not that Danzo is that smart.

Wrathkal

The clusterfuck of this situation is looking to be very intense. And hilarious.

I feel like because you had a time skip. He should also have one where he gets a bunch more. Pokémon in the fact that he hadn’t flooded. The local ecosystem yet is a damn shame. Or experimented at all. Ex picking up a random rock trying to make a Geodude, Turning the Bears into Ursaring, turn tadpoles frog type pokemon, the fact that he is sitting on his ass just growing stuff, but he’s already been visited by ninjas from the leaf twice should be sending alarm bells in his head to at least make more defenders

Imagine if all the factions gunning for Karl end up making their move at the SAME time and end up encountering and beating each other up. Dude and his Pokemon just wake up to a deserted battlefield and just think “dafuq happened here?”
